  • Patent number: 12006140
Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, an energy storage device, a vehicle body, an electric power take-off system, and a hydraulic component. The energy storage device is supported by the chassis and is configured to provide electrical power to a prime mover. Activation of the prime mover selectively drives the refuse vehicle. The vehicle body is supported by the chassis, and includes an on-board receptacle for storing refuse therein. The electric power take-off system is positioned on the vehicle body, and includes an electric motor configured to drive a hydraulic pump to convert electrical power received from the energy storage device into hydraulic power. An amount of electrical power at least one of received by and provided to the electric motor is limited by a controller to control an output characteristic of the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic component is in fluid communication with the hydraulic pump and configured to operate using hydraulic power from the electric power take-off system.

  • Patent number: 10605253
Abstract: A compressor system is provided with an impeller disposed to rotate in a compressor chamber. A diffuser extends around the impeller to collect fluid leaving the impeller. Main flow is discharged from the diffuser through an exit providing an opening that extends circumferentially around the compressor. A bleed annulus extends around the compressor and has a consistent cross-sectional area. A bleed port that opens the diffuser to the bleed annulus and that is configured to divert a bleed flow of the fluid from the main flow before discharge through the exit. The bleed port has a circumference around the compressor and a flow size that varies around the circumference. Variation in the flow size of the bleed port maintains a uniform flow distribution around the exit.

  • Publication number: 20170109586
Abstract: A computer-based method includes classifying motion in a video file using a classifier to produce a confidence score for the video file that indicates how confident the classifier is that motion in the video file is a particular type of motion (e.g., motion by a living being). The method further includes enabling a first human user to specify (e.g., with a slider-style graphical control element), from a first user computing device, a first threshold confidence score for receiving notifications about videos. The method further includes sending a first notification of the uploaded video file if the confidence score for the video file meets or exceeds the user-specified first threshold confidence score for receiving notifications about videos. The first notification, if sent, is accessible at least from the first user computing device.

  • Publication number: 20170074167
Abstract: A precooler system having a symmetrical precooler core that is optimized to be integrally mounted to the turbofan engine, regardless of the turbofan engine size, is provided. The provided precooler system optimizes available space between a turbofan engine and the nacelle, and does not substantially increase weight and cost. The provided precooler system may be flexibly implemented as either a right handed precooler system or a left handed precooler system.

  • Patent number: 9576466
Abstract: A method includes receiving an indication that an event has occurred in a physical space being monitored by a monitoring device that includes a plurality of sensors. In response to the indication, the method includes sending one or more primary notifications of the event over a computer-based network to each of one or more persons primarily associated with the physical space being monitored. If, after a designated amount of time, none of the primary notifications have been viewed by any of the persons primarily associated with the physical space being monitored, the method includes sending a backup notification of the event over the computer-based network to one or more persons designated as backup contacts. The backup notification is logically associated with information that the one or more backup contacts can access about the event. The logical association can be embodied by a link (e.g., a hyperlink) in the backup notification.

  • Patent number: 8024935
Abstract: A bleed air duct that preferably includes an inlet section configured to include a flush scoop and a louver. The louver is located and configured such that in the desired operating flow range of the duct, the fluid entering the flush scoop is disturbed and as a result creates a low pressure region downstream of the louver. The low pressure region substantially eliminates the generation of any pressure pulses and acoustic resonance also known as Helmholtz resonance.
