Patent number: 10605253Abstract: A compressor system is provided with an impeller disposed to rotate in a compressor chamber. A diffuser extends around the impeller to collect fluid leaving the impeller. Main flow is discharged from the diffuser through an exit providing an opening that extends circumferentially around the compressor. A bleed annulus extends around the compressor and has a consistent cross-sectional area. A bleed port that opens the diffuser to the bleed annulus and that is configured to divert a bleed flow of the fluid from the main flow before discharge through the exit. The bleed port has a circumference around the compressor and a flow size that varies around the circumference. Variation in the flow size of the bleed port maintains a uniform flow distribution around the exit.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2017Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Robert Hoover, Greg Ockenfels, Paul Zonneveld, Keith Sangston

Publication number: 20170109586Abstract: A computer-based method includes classifying motion in a video file using a classifier to produce a confidence score for the video file that indicates how confident the classifier is that motion in the video file is a particular type of motion (e.g., motion by a living being). The method further includes enabling a first human user to specify (e.g., with a slider-style graphical control element), from a first user computing device, a first threshold confidence score for receiving notifications about videos. The method further includes sending a first notification of the uploaded video file if the confidence score for the video file meets or exceeds the user-specified first threshold confidence score for receiving notifications about videos. The first notification, if sent, is accessible at least from the first user computing device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2016Publication date: April 20, 2017Inventors: Mayank Rana, Timothy Robert Hoover, Marc P. Patent number: 9576466Abstract: A method includes receiving an indication that an event has occurred in a physical space being monitored by a monitoring device that includes a plurality of sensors. In response to the indication, the method includes sending one or more primary notifications of the event over a computer-based network to each of one or more persons primarily associated with the physical space being monitored. If, after a designated amount of time, none of the primary notifications have been viewed by any of the persons primarily associated with the physical space being monitored, the method includes sending a backup notification of the event over the computer-based network to one or more persons designated as backup contacts. The backup notification is logically associated with information that the one or more backup contacts can access about the event. The logical association can be embodied by a link (e.g., a hyperlink) in the backup notification.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2015Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: Canary Connect, Inc.Inventors: Adam D. Sager, Jonathan D. Troutman, Timothy Robert Hoover, Christopher I. Rill
