  • Publication number: 20110221758
Abstract: An apparatus and method for a subject to provide input to a computer in order to generate and manipulate displayed images. The subject physically interacts with at least one input modality within an input console that is coupled to the computer. The input console converts the provided physical input into a corresponding electronic signal which is received by a graphic graphics module stored within the computer. The graphics module associates the incoming electronic signal with an image to be displayed or to an action or visual effect to be applied to a pre-existing image. The visual effect changes the image and creates a unique second image based on the input provided by the subject. A user may manipulate the image further and then save, print, or transfer the second image to another computer or device for a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20090052714
Abstract: High noise immunity communication systems are provided for voice communications among emergency responders, in which first and second wireless devices employ near field spread spectrum data modems to transfer digital audio data between a responder mask or helmet and a secondary device affixed to the responder's clothing or uniform to allow the responder to broadcast messages to other responders and to hear broadcasts from other responders.

  • Publication number: 20080035145
Abstract: A breathing apparatus designed to display at least one condition associated with the breathing apparatus to the user of the breathing apparatus. The breathing apparatus includes a breathing mask, a display assembly and a sensor assembly. The display assembly includes at least one display designed to display at least one condition of the display assembly and/or the sensor assembly. The breathing apparatus design can be designed to enable a third party to view at least one condition of the display assembly and/or the sensor assembly while a user is wearing the breathing mask. The breathing apparatus can include a sealing arrangement for forming a seal between a circuit board and/or other electronic components and a housing of the display assembly and/or the sensor assembly.

  • Publication number: 20060280805
Abstract: The present invention relates to rouge (corrosion) free pharmaceutical Water for Injection (WFI) systems. These systems are usually made of 316 stainless steel. Rouge is prevented by using a controlled atmosphere which does not contain carbon dioxide. Preferably, this controlled atmosphere is a mixture of about 80% nitrogen and about 20% oxygen.

  • Patent number: 7040677
Abstract: A device for retrieving and disposing of solid or semi-solid waste such as dog waste comprising an elongated handle and a hinged bag supporting frame that is operated by a mechanism in the handle. A bag can be inserted over the two halves of the bag-supporting frame creating a cavity or depression, which will cause the waste to be trapped in the cavity or depression when the frame pivots to a closed position, after which the bag can be removed inside-out.

  • Publication number: 20020124371
Abstract: A driver tool is provided for a power hammer apparatus and is employed for setting an anchor, such as a bolt anchor, into a well that is in a material, such as concrete material. The driver tool includes a power-hammer-attachment end, a riser portion connected to the power-hammer-attachment end, and an anchor setting end connected to the riser portion. The power-hammer-attachment end, the riser portion, and the anchor setting end are arranged along a common longitudinal axis and can be formed as a unified integrated structure. The riser portion includes a hand grip area. A method is also provided for installing an anchor into material using a power hammer apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5075671
Abstract: A portable, personal alarm system (A) which incorporates a loud audio alert (19, 9/10) that, when engaged, is unable to be removed from the user, or terminated without the cooperation thereof. The preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a small, hand-held alarm system having a strap (5) with a locking mechanism for securely affixing the system to the user, compressed gas containment or electrical power for providing a loud audio horn alert, a locator light (4) for signalling the location of the user in dark areas, and a mechanism for selectively locking the horn alert in the "on" operating position which cannot be reactivated without unlocking the strap, which uses a precoded combination type lock. In use the push button (3) end (24) is placed within the palm so that the push button lies right under the fingers, with the main body (1) extending up along side of the inner side of the wrist.

  • Patent number: 3957692
Abstract: A catalyst suitable, for example, for treatment of cat exhaust emissions is prepared by providing a substrate with a continuous adherent, surface layer of a carrier material for catalytic material by providing on the substrate a layer of carrier material, at least part of which comprises a gel, and firing; and sputtering catalytic material onto the surface layer by bombarding a source of the catalytic material in the neighbourhood of the surface layer with energetic ions, the conditions of atmosphere and selectivity of ions permitted to bombard the catalytic material being such that co-deposition upon the surface layer of unwanted material is avoided.
