  • Patent number: 8091578
Abstract: A fill limiter vent valve (FLVV) adapted for suspension downward into a fuel tank has upper and lower housing members having openings in their cylindrical walls cooperating to define a spill-over level for fuel into the FLVV producing float-initiated vent valve closure during a fuel fill event. The lower housing member has a latching member fixedly engageable with one or more cooperating latching features of the upper housing member in a plurality of relative axial positions; and the spill-over level is varied by relative axial movement of the housing members between those positions. Axial alignment of the latching member and the cooperating latching features is maintained by axially aligned, interacting surface features of the housing members.

  • Patent number: 7677098
Abstract: A contactless, sealed fuel level sensor for determining a fuel level in a fuel tank and producing a level indicative signal includes a frame, a cover, a float arm, a float and a light-responsive sensor. The frame is configured to have a cavity formed therein. The cover is connected to the frame to enclose the cavity. The float arm is coupled to one of the frame or cover. The float is connected to the float arm and configured such that the float moves the float arm as a level of fuel increases and decreases in the fuel tank. The light-responsive sensor is configured to generate a fuel level signal indicative of a fuel level in the fuel tank based on the movement of the float arm. The fuel level sensor may also include a light source such as a light emitting diode (LED). The light-responsive sensor may be a single photoelectric sensor located in the sealed cavity, or an array of photoelectric sensors located in the sealed cavity.

  • Patent number: 7676367
Abstract: A method of constructing a list of alternate transcripts from a recognized transcript includes generating a list of close call records, matching partial sub-histories from the recognized transcript with one of the history pairs stored in each of the records, and substituting the other of the history pairs for the partial sub-history of the recognized transcript. A close call record is generated each time a pair of partial hypotheses attempt to seed a common word. Each close call record includes history information and scoring information associated with a particular pair of partial hypotheses seeding a common word. Alternate transcripts are constructed by substituting close call histories for partial histories of the recognized transcripts, and also by substituting close call histories for partial histories of other alternate transcript.

  • Patent number: 7523353
Abstract: A scheme for monitoring links in a point-to-point architecture computer system is discussed. The scheme monitors labels for transactions to determine if they have been reissued within a user selected time window. A corresponding position in a register is updated to reflect the value of the transaction identifier. Subsequently, after the expiration of a counter, the corresponding position in the registers is compared to other predetermined positions in other registers to determine if the transaction identifier has been used (reissued). Otherwise, a possible hang condition might have occurred.

  • Publication number: 20080295486
Abstract: An exhaust treatment system associated with a power source is disclosed. The exhaust treatment system may have a filter located to remove particulate matter from a flow of exhaust, and a regeneration device located proximal the filter. The exhaust treatment system may also have a fluid handling component located upstream of the power source to vary an amount of oxygen in the flow of exhaust, and a controller in communication with the regeneration device and the fluid handling component. The controller may determine a need for filter regeneration, and determine an adjustment to the fluid handling component required to provide sufficient oxygen in the exhaust flow for filter regeneration. The controller may further determine an effect the adjustment will have on operation of the power source, and determine an correction for the power source to account for the effect. The controller may substantially simultaneously implement the adjustment and the correction.

  • Publication number: 20060216952
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for applying a surface modification agent composition for organosilicate glass dielectric films. More particularly, the invention pertains to a method for treating a silicate or organosilicate dielectric film on a substrate, which film either comprises silanol moieties or has had at least some previously present carbon containing moieties removed therefrom. The treatment adds carbon containing moieties to the film and/or seals surface pores of the film, when the film is porous.

  • Publication number: 20060181057
Abstract: A wheel jack comprises a frame, a pair of dowels rotatable with respect to the frame, threaded connectors, each threaded connector mounted on a corresponding dowel, a pair of lever arms movable between a retracted position and an extended position, and a pair of axles, each axle mounted on a corresponding lever arm, wherein the axles are adapted to support a wheel. Rotation of the dowels urges the corresponding threaded connector to move along the dowel, and each threaded connector is pivotably connected to a corresponding lever arm. In operation, the wheel jack is placed under a tire, the axles are raised to engage the wheel so as to lift the wheel off its corresponding wheel mount, and then the wheel is removed from a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7047997
Abstract: A device and method for venting a tank comprising an intermediate shutoff valve as part of a cover that closes a tank opening. The intermediate shutoff valve is placed between an existing valve and a vent port in a liquid storage tank. The shutoff valve is operable to substantially fluidly seal the vent port when the vent valve is displaced greater than a predetermined amount. The intermediate shutoff valve facilitates complete removal of the existing vent valve during an impact wherein a wall of the storage tank impacts the existing valve. Upon impact, the intermediate shutoff valve is operable to close and seal a tank opening created by the displacement and removal of the existing vent valve.
