  • Patent number: 10034730
Abstract: The power toothbrush includes a brushhead arm (36) and a brush element (38) at a distal end thereof. A V-spring assembly (14) converts the movement of a power drive assembly in a back-and-forth movement. A mounting member (55) at the rear end of the V-spring assembly provides a base for a magnet (56). The back end of the V-spring assembly is displaced in accordance with pressure applied to the brush member. A Hall effect sensor (58) is mounted within the changing magnetic field produced by the magnet as the rear end of the V-spring assembly is displaced due to pressure on the brushhead. A processor (65) is responsive to the output from the Hall sensor and provides an indication when the pressure exceeds a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20170172493
Abstract: A system is provided that predicts eating events for a user. The system includes a set of sensors each of which is configured to continuously measure a different physiological variable associated with the user and output a time-stamped data stream that includes the current value of this variable. A set of features is periodically extracted from the data stream output from each of the sensors, where these features have been determined to be specifically indicative of an about-to-eat moment. This set of features is then input into an about-to-eat moment classifier that has been trained to predict when the user is in an about-to-eat moment based on this set of features. Whenever an output of the classifier indicates that the user is currently in an about-to-eat moment, the user is notified with a just-in-time eating intervention.

  • Publication number: 20060054775
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting an axial load between first and second planes with an axial dimension therebetween includes first, second, and third members. The first member has a planar face on one end engaging the first plane and has a spherical face on the other end. The second member has a spiraling face on one end and has a spherical face on another end. The spherical face engaging the spherical face of the first member so that the first and second spherical faces maintain substantial contact for transferring the axial load between the first and second planes whether the planes are parallel or non-parallel. The third member has a spiraling face on one end and has a planar face on another end. The planar face engages the second plane. The spiraling face engages the spiraling face of the second member. The axial dimension of the second and third members can be adjusted when at least one is rotated.

  • Publication number: 20060037537
Abstract: One or more chambers of a multi-chamber vacuum processing apparatus are provided with a high gas flow conductance path to an exhaust volume of the apparatus that is maintained at high vacuum with a high vacuum pump. Separate pumps for the one or more chambers are made unnecessary by providing such chambers with a protective deposition shield or shield set that is configured to substantially protect walls of the chamber and the gas flow conductance path from deposition and to partially impede the gas flow from the chamber through the gas flow conductance path to the exhaust volume so that the chamber can be operated at a higher pressure than that of the exhaust volume and the chambers can be operated at different pressures and without cross-contamination. Preferably, a nested set of chamber shields is used. A controller is programmed to control the processing of wafers in the chambers by controlling the supply of process gas into the chambers.

  • Patent number: 4343511
Abstract: A high capacity wagon for silage and the like has a gravity-assisted rear inclined dumping wall with high ground clearance in both the full open and all intermediate positions. A simplified positive latch mechanism for the dumping wall is biased in the latching position and easily released by the operator of a towing tractor. The necessity for tilting the entire body of the wagon to completely dump its contents is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4266510
Abstract: Juxtaposed pairs of upright portable bunker wall sections are erected on level ground in longitudinal alignment and tied together and braced by a system of adjustable and portable bracing units along the length of the elongated open ended and open top silage bunker thus formed. The bunker is filled with silage up to a proper level by a mobile loading machine with the formation of the silage bunk progressing rearwardly. As the silage bunk is thus formed, the forwardmost bunker wall sections are shifted to the rear end of the bunker to enable the formation of a uniform depth silage bunk of any desired length. As bunker wall sections are removed, the formed or molded silage bunk is covered and protected by a dark plastic film.

  • Patent number: 4050521
Abstract: A turnplow and a subsoiler are attached to a common draft beam with the subsoiler pivotally mounted and counter-weighted so that lifting of the implement will cause automatic retraction of the subsoiler relative to the turnplow. A drag point on the subsoiler engages the ground when the implement is lowered and thereby moves the subsoiler to an active position below the turnplow. Simplicity of construction is featured.
