  • Publication number: 20180202801
Abstract: The aim of the invention is a quick and very precise reconstruction of an object. This is achieved by a device and a method for detecting an image of a preferably structured surface of an object (6), comprising at least one pattern projection unit for illuminating the object (6) and at least one imaging unit (7) for capturing images of projected patterns. A temporal and/or spatial analysis of received images or image sequences is carried out in order to reconstruct the surface. The at least one pattern projection unit is designed to generate patterns using a diffraction of light on an optical grating. Furthermore, the method for detecting images is characterized in that by using the temporal and/or spatial analysis of the captured images or image sequences, corresponding pixels are ascertained by means of algorithms, said pixels together with an imaging function allowing a triangulation of surface points.

  • Publication number: 20180168785
Abstract: An oral irrigator handle through which fluid flows to a tip is described. Fluid flows from a fluidically connected hose to the tip during irrigate mode, and fluid flow may be interrupted by selecting a pause mode. The handle includes a mechanically controlled actuator for selecting the pause mode. The actuator may be operably connected to a shuttle valve that is positioned to block fluid flow to the tip during pause mode but not during irrigate mode. The handle may also include a swivel assembly. The swivel assembly prevents rotational movement of either the handle or the hose from being transmitted to the other, such that rotation of the handle will not affect the position of the hose.

  • Publication number: 20170243252
Abstract: A method of displaying media content on a display screen of a communication device including a processor and a memory including program code, an application program, and a user application. The application program includes a plurality of activities associated with a plurality of display windows rendered by the display screen. The method includes receiving, at a monitoring process, status callbacks provided by an operating system of the device wherein the status callbacks relate to memory state. Values of at least one of the status callbacks are inspected wherein the at least one of the status callbacks includes a user interface (UI) state value. Based at least in part upon inspection of the UI state value, it is determined that a first activity is finishing. Media content is then displayed upon the display screen upon further determining that a predetermined condition associated with the communication device exists.

  • Publication number: 20160363971
Abstract: A thermal control system that includes a combination of active and passive components is described herein. In one or more implementation, the thermal control system compensates for non-uniformities in a temperature profile for an arrangement of components within a computing device. One or more active components of the thermal control system transfer heat away from heat-generating devices by active means, such as active transfer to a moving fluid that is driven by a blower or fan. Additionally, one or more passive components are positioned to transfer heat to selected areas of the device using passive transfer devices, such as heat-pipes and thermal spreaders made of conductive materials. The active and passive components operate together to compensate for temperature variations across the device surfaces, produce a controlled temperature profile having greater uniformity, reduce overall differences in surface temperatures, and provide greater capability for heat dissipation.

  • Patent number: 8960256
Abstract: A retractable motor-driven awning can be extended or retracted by energizing the motor in one direction or another. A manually operable system, however, is also employed for rotating the awning by hand in a direction to retract the awning in the event the motor drive becomes inoperable. The ability to hand rotate the roll bar to retract the awning is achieved by connecting the roll bar to the drive shaft of the motor with a manual override system. Implementations of a manual override mechanism include one-way bearings and various ratchet designs.

  • Patent number: 8927495
Abstract: Adrenocortical disease (ACD) in ferrets develops as a result of the effect of increased concentration of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) on adrenal LH receptors. This increase in LH often results from the neutering of male or female ferrets. Neutered ferrets have no negative feedback of the ovarian or testicular hormone and as a result LH is elevated 3 to 10 times normal. Elevated LH may be prevented and/or treated by injection of GnRH vaccine. Administration of GnRH produces antibodies to endogenous GnRH. The GnRH-anti-GnRH immune-complex is ineffective in stimulating the release of LH and FSH in the anterior pituitary resulting drop in concentration of LH in the systemic circulation. This reduction in LH significantly reduces the occurrence or clinical symptoms of ACD therein. Moreover, treatment of ferrets with the GnRH provides long term relief from ACD for a period of a year or more.
