  • Publication number: 20230010586
Abstract: The invention deals with a sensor for sensing electrolyte creepage in a battery, a circuit comprising such sensor, and a battery connected to such circuit, with an application to an electrical circuit comprising the sensor and connecting a monitoring equipment to a to battery. The sensor element is adapted for being connected within an electrical circuit 1 connected to a battery 2, said battery comprising one or more electrochemical cells containing an electrolyte, wherein the sensor element comprises a electrical conductor element whose at least one electrical property varies when in contact with the electrolyte, such as to allow, when the sensor element is connected in a circuit, detection of an electrolyte creepage from a an electrochemical element of a battery 2 connected to the circuit 1 by measurement of the variation of the one electrical property of the conductor element.

  • Publication number: 20040042738
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and to a device for providing a closed chamber for the enclosure of optical fibre and/or optical fibre ribbon splices to a spliced underwater optical fibre cable. By providing the chamber (8) with at least one closable cover element, such as a cover plate (13), the chamber can be closed by means of said cover plate, subsequent to having inserted the ends of the optical fibre cables into said chamber and having spliced the optical fibres/optical fibre ribbons to said optical fibre cables. Oil can be delivered to the chamber closed by said cover plate, through at least one closable opening (14), resulting in a gas-tight and oil-filled chamber that provides reliable protection to the splices.

  • Patent number: 6028851
Abstract: A system for inhibiting the transmission of an access request message from a mobile station when either the system is incapable of granting access at the class of service desired by the mobile or access by the mobile at that class of service would increase the interference level of the target base station or a neighboring base station past its interference capacity. In one embodiment, each base station broadcasts a maximum data rate access parameter and any mobile receiving that parameter and seeking access at a greater data rate refrains from transmitting an access request message. In another embodiment, each mobile calculates from its path loss to the base station the power level it must transmit in order to gain access as well as the effect of that transmission on the interference level of both the target base station and neighboring base stations. If transmission at the required power level would increase the interference level of any base station past its maximum capacity, the transmission is inhibited.
