  • Patent number: 4505769
Abstract: A wrapper sleeve is made from a film length in the following consecutive steps: wrapping the film length about a sealing mandrel such that opposite longitudinal edge zones of the film length are in a face-to-face oriented relationship; providing a sealing seam in and along the face-to-face oriented longitudinal edge zones for bonding the edge zones to one another whereby a wrapper sleeve is formed; and removing the wrapper sleeve from the sealing mandrel and inserting the wrapper sleeve on a forming mandrel having a circumferential length identical to that of the sealing mandrel and a cross-sectional shape different from that of the sealing mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4242949
Abstract: The apparatus includes a mandrel, about which blank sheets are successively folded to obtain packaging sleeves. On one face the mandrel has a recess which extends in the length dimension of the mandrel and in which a first pressing shoe is arranged for reciprocation parallel to the mandrel length. A face of the first pressing shoe complements a mandrel face to a continuous folder face. A second pressing shoe cooperates with the first pressing shoe in pressing and bonding together overlapping edge zones of the blank folded about the mandrel. The first and the second pressing shoes are--as they press the overlapping edge zones--movable as a unit together with the packaging sleeve relative to the mandrel parallel to its length dimension. In this manner the packaging sleeve is stripped from the mandrel, while the adhesive between the overlapping edge zones sets as the stripping takes place.

  • Patent number: 3973474
Abstract: In bag making, a web of sealable material is wrapped around a forming tube of rectangular cross section, the adjoining edges of the web are bonded to one another to form a hose, a transversal seam is provided to form a hose bottom continuing in ears, drawing the hose off the forming tube in the direction of its length by grasping solely the hose ears and transversely severing the hose below the forming tube for obtaining an individual bag.
