  • Patent number: 5748151
Abstract: A low radar cross section lens antenna having high gain is disclosed. A spherical lens having a dielectric radial gradient focuses planar RF energy coupled thereto onto a focal point on the surface of a lens located diametrically opposite from the first intersection of the plane wave and the lens. The lens partially encloses a wedge shaped RF absorbing portion having the edge of the wedge passing through the center of the lens. The lens is partially surrounded by a second RF absorbing portion having a bowl-like shape. An antenna feed having its aperture located adjacent the surface of the lens is mounted to rotate about an axis lying substantially along the edge of said wedge shaped absorbing portion. Elevation rotation means is provided to rotate the feed antenna within a slot contained within the second RF absorbing portion.

  • Patent number: 5521817
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for remotely controlling a formation of drones. A single drone is chosen as a formation leader. Each other drone in the formation has one other drone in the formation as its leader. A follower drone will sense relative movement parameters as well as inquire of its leader drone as to its other movement parameters. The follower drone will then control itself to follow the movements of its leader.

  • Patent number: 5083279
Abstract: A canard based air speed, angle of attack and sideslip measurement system consisting of canard mounted pressure transducers. The canard includes a leading edge, a side surface, a bottom surface and a top surface. The apparatus includes pressure sensors including a plurality of flush orifice pressure sensors mounted on the canard further including a first configuration of pressure sensors flush mounted on the side surface, a second configuration of pressure sensors flush mounted on the bottom surface, a third configuration of pressure sensors mounted on the top surface, and a fourth configuration of pressure sensors mounted on the leading edge and wherein each pressure sensors provides an output signal and the combinations of all of the output signals are proportional to the angles of attack of the aircraft. A shaft encoder provides displacement angles for the canard.
