  • Publication number: 20240138643
Abstract: A floor cleaner including a recovery tank that receives a fluid and a suction airflow from a suction inlet and separates the suction airflow from the fluid. The recovery tank includes a top side, a bottom wall opposite the top side, a sidewall that extends from the bottom wall. The bottom wall and the sidewall at least partially define a storage volume of the recovery tank. The recovery tank further includes an inlet duct having an inlet aperture configured to direct the fluid from the inlet duct into the storage volume, and a baffle wall connected to the sidewall, the baffle wall facing toward the top side of the recovery tank. The inlet aperture is directed along an inlet direction toward the sidewall adjacent the baffle, and the inlet aperture is disposed above the baffle in a direction from the bottom wall to the top side.

  • Patent number: 8951413
Abstract: A grate cover being installed in a recess in the top of a sump. The grate is formed of an upper and a lower section. The upper section exhibits four squares or four triangles therein, The upper section has a dome-shaped configuration and has four square or triangular shapes therein, depending on the geometric division therein, each shape has openings therein. The lower section has four trapezoid shapes therein. Each of the shapes of the upper section, whether square or triangular, has a concave surface curvature therein at a transition between the upper and the lower section. Each of the trapezoids of the lower section has two concave surfaces curvatures therein. One curvature extends in a first direction from the upper section toward an outside edge of grate cover. The other second concave curvature extends in a direction which is normal to the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20090014369
Abstract: An inventive top profile design of friction ridges on top of grate bars in a swimming pool. The profiles exhibit a multiple of right angled friction ridges which are stacked within each other in a direction which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the grate bars. The right angled ridges resemble the well known chevron format. The right angled friction ridges increase the coefficient of friction to above 1.0 ASTM. The design of the friction ridges drains off water quickly and reduces the travel time of water the grate bars. The design also prevents stagnant water forming any mold formation. The tops of the friction ridges are rounded so that no sharp edges are present to enhance the comfort under the bare feet.

  • Publication number: 20080229490
Abstract: A grate cover in combination with a swimming pool being installed in a recess in the top of a sump. The grate is formed of an upper and a lower section. Each of the upper and the lower section exhibit four quadrants therein. The upper section has dome-shaped configuration and has square shaped interstices therein. Each of the quadrants of the upper section has a concave curvature therein at a transition between the upper and the lower section. Each of the quadrants of the lower section have two concave curvatures therein. One curvature extends in a first direction from the upper section toward an outside edge of grate cover. The other second concave curvature extends in a direction which is normal to the first direction. This way, the forceful suction within the sump cannot obtain enough force to suction the skin of a human onto the grate cover to cause any injuries.

  • Patent number: 7419588
Abstract: A grate cover in combination with a swimming sump being installed in a recess in the top of the sump. The grate cover having a multiple of interstices or openings there through. The size of the interstices being held to a minimum so that fingers of a human cannot be sucked into the openings. The top surface of the grate cover has a curvature thereon while the bottom surface is flat. This way, the forceful suction within the sump cannot obtain enough force to suction the skin of a human against the grate cover to cause any injuries.

  • Publication number: 20080163415
Abstract: A structure for installing grate bars in a swimming pool having straight and curved section. The pool has a top gutter formed in concrete. The grate bars follow the concept of being parallel to a pool wall. A multiple of spaced apart elements support elements are placed over the gutter at predetermined intervals and fastened to the top of the concrete. A pre-assembled grid of longitudinal grate bars is placed over the support elements and fastened thereto. The pre-assembled grate bars are held together by lateral stays. In the curved section, individual grate bars placed onto the support elements one by one and are bent into the respective curves of the gutter. the individual grate bars are received between the spaces of the knobs on the support elements and snap fitted therein.

  • Publication number: 20080134427
Abstract: A grate construction for a swimming pool placed at a top edge of the pool at its water level. The grate consists of a wet deck edging profile having a hollow grate bar at its forward edge. A finger grip groove follows the hollow grate inwardly, that is, away from the edge of the water further inwardly there is a flat section which is fastened to the concrete from which the pool is constructed. The flat section is being fastened to the concrete by way of a lag screw. Also, the flat section has two upstanding hook ribs thereon. Another hollow grate bar has at its bottom side two depending hook ribs thereon. The upstanding hook ribs and the depending hook ribs, when pressed together, will fasten the another hollow grate bar to the flat extension. A connector element will fasten two longitudinal grate bars together to extend its length.

  • Patent number: 6968665
Abstract: A grate for a swimming pool structure is constructed by placing a multiple of grate bars in an elevated position above the gutter which is parallel to the pools edge including any curvatures. The grate bars follow the curvatures of the pool's edge. When in the elevated position, the multiple of parallel grate bars are clamped together and a hole is drilled through all of the parallel grate bars. A retaining bolt is placed through all of the grate bars including the curvatures of the pools'edge and the bolts are fastened therein. There after, the assembled unit of grate bars is lowered into the gutter to be even with the surface of the deck and the water surface.

  • Publication number: 20040003549
Abstract: The invention pertains to the structure and a method of constructing of a swimming pool grating. The swimming pool has straight and curved edges and a gutter is constructed in the deck of the pool close to the edge including the curves. The grating is made of a multiple of grate bars which extend along the direction of the pool edge including the curves. The multiple grate bars are assembled in a longitudinal direction as well in a lateral direction according to the dimensions of the gutter. Once assembled into a grating in an elevated position, holes are drilled through all of the assembled grate bars in a lateral direction to the edge of the pool and rods are placed through the drilled holes and are fastened therein against any movement in any direction. Thereafter, the thus assembled grating is lowered into the gutter of the pool to be substantially flush with the surface of the pool deck and the level of the water in the pool.
