  • Publication number: 20190093602
Abstract: A rocket engine combustion chamber liner of the present disclosure has a combustion chamber in which fuel and oxygen are ignited thereby generating low-velocity gases. The rocket engine combustion chamber liner further has a throat integral with and in fluid communication with the combustion chamber that generates high-velocity gases from the low-velocity gases received from the combustion chamber. Additionally, the rocket engine combustion chamber has a nozzle integral with and in fluid communication with the throat through which the high-velocity gases are emitted causing thrust for a rocket. The combustion chamber, the throat, and the nozzle have a common outer surface and etched into the outer surface are a plurality of channels wherein the channels have the same width and depth.

  • Patent number: 10074683
Abstract: Imaging systems may include camera modules that include multiple image sensor pixel arrays. A transparent lens substrate may be formed over the image pixel arrays. Lenses may be formed in the lens substrate such that each lens transmits light to a corresponding image sensor pixel array. Total internal reflection mitigation structures such as groove structures may be formed in one or more surfaces of the lens substrate between each of the lenses. The groove structures may include concentric ring shaped grooves in a surface of the lens substrate so that each lens is surrounded by a respective group of concentric ring shaped grooves. The groove structures may have a depth, angle, shape, and spacing that prevents total internal reflection of image light between the lenses so that high incident angle image light incident on a given pixel array is not captured by an adjacent pixel array.

  • Patent number: 9962541
Abstract: A stimulation lead includes an electrode carrier disposed along a distal portion of a lead body. The electrode carrier defines multiple segmented-electrode-receiving apertures extending between an outer surface and a central lumen. Each of the segmented-electrode-receiving apertures includes a ledge disposed around a perimeter of that segmented-electrode-receiving aperture and inset from the outer surface of the electrode carrier. The stimulation lead also includes multiple segmented electrodes, with each of the segmented electrode disposed in a different one of the segmented-electrode-receiving apertures with an outer stimulation surface exposed through the segmented-electrode-receiving aperture and an inner surface abutting the ledge disposed around the perimeter of that segmented-electrode-receiving aperture. • Patent number: 9888198
Abstract: An image sensor may include an array of photodiodes and readout circuitry. A group of adjacent photodiodes in the array may be covered with a first color filter element that transmits a first color light and an additional group of adjacent photodiodes may be covered with a second color filter element that transmits a second color light. The group of photodiodes may share a floating diffusion node. The array may be operable in a low resolution mode in which the readout circuitry reads out image signals corresponding to a sum of charges generated by the group of photodiodes and in a high resolution mode in which the readout circuitry reads out image signals corresponding to charges generated by each of the photodiodes from the shared floating diffusion node. The photodiodes in the group may capture charge using different integration times for generating high-dynamic-range images.

  • Publication number: 20170300746
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for organizing content collected in a pen-based computing system. Content collected in the pen-based computing system includes stroke data collected by a smart pen as well as other contextual data collected by the pen-based computing system. The collected stroke data includes timestamps and positional data. Based on correlations of spatial and temporal data, collected stroke data is grouped into clusters of stroke data. The clusters of stroke data, along with contextual data, are further grouped into snippets based on temporal correlations.

  • Publication number: 20170220140
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for calibrating writing on a writing surface to a digital document. One or more calibration parameters associated with a writing surface and a digital document of a display device are determined. The calibration parameters indicate a spatial offset between a reference position on the writing surface and a reference position in the digital document. A gesture captured by a smart pen is received. The gesture includes a sequence of spatial positions representing movement of the smart pen with respect to the writing surface. The sequence of spatial positions is mapped to a sequence of spatial positions in the digital document based on the calibration parameters.

  • Publication number: 20170126658
Abstract: A system and method establishes a connection between a smart pen and a computing device, and establishes a privilege level that regulates data requests for specific data from the smart pen. The smart pen determines whether a connection should be established between the smart pen and a computing device, based on device information received from the computing device. If a connection is established, a privilege level is established for an application executing on the computing device based on the device information, which determines whether a request from the application for specific data from the smart pen is allowed or denied.

  • Patent number: 9533141
Abstract: An electrical stimulation lead includes at least one lead body and at least one thin, elongate anchoring element. The lead body defines at least one anchoring lumen extending longitudinally along at least a portion of the lead body and at least one open slot in the lead body where each anchoring lumen is open at one of the at least one open slot. For each anchoring element, the first end of the anchoring element is disposed in one of the at least one anchoring lumen and the second end of the anchoring element is configured and arranged preferentially to extend out of the open slot associated with the anchoring lumen and away from the lead body in a deployed configuration unless the second end is constrained in a constrained configuration adjacent or within the lead body.

  • Publication number: 20160346553
Abstract: A lead extension for an electrical stimulation system includes a lead-extension body, terminals, and a connector. The connector includes a contact housing and a gasket housing. Multiple connector contacts are disposed in the contact housing and are coupled to the terminals. A retention member is disposed along one end of the contact housing and is receivable by a retention socket defined in the gasket housing. A deformable gasket is disposed in the retention socket. A lumen extends through the connector and is suitable for receiving an electrical stimulation lead. The received lead is retained in the lumen by using the retention member to compress the gasket along a longitudinal length of the connector. The longitudinal compression of the gasket causes a corresponding radial expansion of the gasket, which retains the electrical stimulation lead within the lumen.

  • Patent number: 9497427
Abstract: An imaging system may include a camera module with an image sensor having an array of image sensor pixels and one or more lenses that focus light onto the array of image sensor pixels. The array of image sensor pixels may include a corresponding array of color filter elements. The system may include circuitry configured to detect and mitigate flare artifacts in image data captured using the image sensor. Detecting the flare artifacts may include detecting color mismatches in the captured image data and performing edge-detection operations to determine whether the color mismatches are in an edge region of the image data. If the color mismatches are detected in an edge region, no flare-mitigation operations may be performed. If the color mismatches are in a flat region of the captured image, flare-mitigation operations may be performed.
