  • Publication number: 20240123140
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed wherein temperature in a device such as an ambulatory infusion pump is monitored during inductive charging of the device such that temperature-sensitive contents or components, such as, for example, insulin, particular circuitry and/or other components are not damaged. Temperature can be monitored in the device at one or more locations during inductive charging. If the temperature breaches one or more predetermined thresholds and/or is rising at a rate greater than one or more predetermined thresholds, charging can be suspended or provided at reduced power to prevent the temperature from further rising and damaging the contents and/or components of the device. One or more alerts associated with these events may also be triggered so that the user is aware of the situation and may take corrective action.

  • Publication number: 20240064070
Abstract: A service provider of a telecommunications network provides local hosting of virtual user equipment (UE) clients to enable the clients to access locally access services of the telecommunications network's control plane. The service provider deploys a virtual UE client on a computing device associated with the service provider, where the virtual UE client includes computer program instructions that when executed by the computing device cause the computing device to perform one or more functions simulating performance of a physical UE device. The service provider maintains an interface between the virtual UE client and the control plane by which the client receives data from the control plane. The virtual UE client executes an application generated by a customer, which performs one or more functions using the data received from the control plane of the telecommunications network.

  • Publication number: 20230125261
Abstract: A cooling system for a battery pack in a vehicle comprises a base plate, a plurality of transverse members, a pump, a controller, and a heat exchanger. The controller causes the pump to generate fluid flow into an inlet/outlet port of the base plate. The base plate comprises a channel with segments for supplying fluid to a first set of fluid distribution ports and receiving fluid from a second set of fluid distribution ports. Each fluid distribution port is in fluid communication with a main conduit of a transverse member and transverse conduits connect the main conduits of a transverse member. Fluid flow through the channel in the base plate and the main conduits and transverse conduits of the transverse members cool the batteries and distribute heat. Cooling multiple sides of the batteries reduces the operating temperature to reduce charging times and extend the service life of the batteries.

  • Publication number: 20210354684
Abstract: A drive train for installation in a vehicle chassis includes a power source, two motor/generators (M/Gs), an array of batteries, and a control system for configuring the drive train to operate using only the power source, only the batteries or a combination of the power source and batteries. The control system may open or close clutches to configure the drive train with each M/G working as a motor or a generator. A M/G working as a motor may use power from the batteries to supply rotational power to drive the vehicle or operate accessories on the vehicle. A M/G working as a generator coupled to a power source generates electric power for charging the array of batteries. The vehicle, including components and subsystems, may be powered electrically from the batteries or powered from the engine.

  • Patent number: 11013375
Abstract: A foaming component for use in a foaming liquid dispenser, and an insert arranged so that it may be inserted into a liquid dispenser comprising the foaming component. The foaming component comprises a liquid chamber; an air chamber; a sparging component, which comprises a sparging interface and a foaming region; an exit aperture; and a pumping mechanism. The pumping mechanism is arranged such that it can transfer liquid from the liquid chamber directly to the foaming region, and air from the air chamber to the foaming region, via the sparging interface. The forcing of air through the sparging interface causes bubbles to form in the liquid located in the foaming region, resulting in a foamed mixture for dispensing. The pumping mechanism is then used to transfer the foamed mixture from the sparging component through the exit aperture, wherein the sparging interface is arranged such that at least a portion of the foaming region is positioned in between opposing surfaces of the sparging interface.

  • Publication number: 20200308672
Abstract: An improved sterling silver alloy. Like all sterlings, the improved alloy is at least 92.5 percent silver by weight. It has less copper than traditional sterlings: 3.0 percent versus the traditional 7.5 percent. Additionally, the improved alloy includes about 2.75 percent palladium, about 1.0 percent tin, and about 0.75 percent zinc, all by weight. A grain refiner, such as ruthenium, may also be provided. The components of the preferred alloy are melted, degassed, remelted, and then formed into casting grains, wire, and etc. The resulting alloy is significantly harder, as cast, than traditional sterlings: 95-120 Vickers versus 65 Vickers for traditional sterlings. The improved alloy also exhibits improved corrosion resistance. Other than a slightly higher (<200° F.) liquidus temperature, the improved alloy may be worked in substantially the same manner as traditional sterlings. Pieces cast from the improved alloy may be age hardened to about 160 Vickers, if desired.
