  • Patent number: 6588059
Abstract: A plastic caster has two legs for mounting a wheel(s) and a fork assembly with a bearing housing portion formed around a bearing assembly with inner and outer ring-shaped raceways and bearings evenly dispersed in a cage between the inner and outer raceways. A top-plate has an extension which extension engages the inner raceway permitting the top plate and fork assembly to independently rotate about the second axis. A retention plug is mated with an opening in the extension preventing disengagement of the top-plate from the inner raceway thereby securely attaching the top-plate to the inner raceway.

  • Patent number: 5980050
Abstract: A vehicle mirror, and a mold for making same, each includes a portion of the viewing surface wherein the field angle increases at an increasing rate as the observer's eye travels outward across the mirror, and another portion wherein the field angle increases at a decreasing rate as the observer's eye travels across the mirror surface. In one embodiment, the mirror includes a primary viewing area (16) nearest to the observer (14) having a spherical convex surface, a secondary viewing area (18) somewhat farther from the observer, having an aspherical convex surface wherein the field angle increases at an increasing rate, and a tertiary viewing area (20) still farther outward, having an aspherical convex curvature wherein the field angle increases at a decreasing rate.

  • Patent number: 4449786
Abstract: Rearview mirrors are disclosed having a convex curvature defined by mathematical and geometrical relationships between the position of the observer, the viewed objects, and the mirror. The mathematical relationships are designed to minimize bi-ocular distortions while producing the desired field of view.

  • Patent number: 4264144
Abstract: A rearview mirror for passenger vehicles has a primary viewing surface that is substantially flat. This surface curves to the rear of the mirror, with a continuously decreasing radius of curvature, toward at least one lateral edge thereof. This provides peripheral vision to the operator of a vehicle in addition to this vision directly to the rear. The peripheral vision introduces a very gradually increasing rate of distortion as the reflected image approaches the edge of vision. This causes the peripherally reflected images to be easily relatable to those reflected from the primary viewing surface.

  • Patent number: 4173831
Abstract: An egg drying apparatus is disclosed incorporating an improved laminar air flow for more effectively drying eggs. The orifices for discharging and directing air towards the eggs to be dried have a coefficient of discharge of at least about 0.8. The orifices are disposed in the bottom of a chamber and are formed by adjacently spaced elongated members having curved air contacting surfaces along the longitudinal axis of each member. A fan draws air into the chamber which is directed towards the eggs via the orifices. In the preferred embodiment, the coefficient of discharge of the orifices is about 0.9 and curved portions of the elongated members are U-shaped channels with the exterior of adjacent channels forming the orifices.
