Abstract: An intermodal hopper container comprises a structural frame defining a rectangular volume suitable for stacking with conventional intermodal containers. The structural frame of the hopper container forms plural compartments therein. Each compartment has a hopper formed at a bottom end which tapers downwardly and inwardly to a gate member. A hatch opening at a top end of each compartment is selectively covered by a hatch cover. The compartment walls are formed of rigid structural materials fixed to and which form part of the structural frame.
