Publication number: 20200049268Abstract: A thief hatch has a pressure relief valve and vacuum relief valve. Each valve may use a weighted pallet with a diaphragm that sits in operation on a seat surrounding a throat. Pressure from the interior of the tank, for the pressure relief valve, or pressure from atmosphere, for the vacuum relief valve, presses the diaphragm against the seat. If the pressure rises too much, the pallet and diaphragm will lift off the seat to relieve pressure.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2019Publication date: February 13, 2020Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Publication number: 20160116165Abstract: An ignitor has a main body forming a support for insulators, a center electrode, an outer electrode and a spark controller electrically connected to the center electrode, a sleeve extending upward from the main body that incorporates the outer electrode, the center electrode extending through the sleeve to a position adjacent the outer electrode to provide a spark gap between the center electrode and outer electrode, and a barrier between the sleeve and main body to prevent condensation from entering the main body and contacting the insulators.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2014Publication date: April 28, 2016Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Publication number: 20160047216Abstract: A wellsite production machine has a separator connectable to a wellhead, the separator having a liquids discharge line and a oil discharge level, an oil storage tank having a liquids input port to which the liquids discharge line is connected; and the storage tank having a high level line established by a high level detection apparatus, the oil discharge level of the separator being at or above the high level line of the storage tank so that liquids in the separator may flow by gravity into the storage tank. The separator and a flare stack assembly are also disclosed, along with a method of making the wellsite production machine.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2014Publication date: February 18, 2016Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Publication number: 20150361969Abstract: Thus there is disclosed a reciprocating top drive system that reciprocates a pump rod that goes to the bottom of the pump stinger to the bottom of the tank. The pump head is mounted at the end of the sting and is submerged in fluids in the tank. The pump head is carbide piston and sleeve with a very tight machined tolerance that allows the piston to pump up and down and glide in a film of the chemical that is slipping by the tolerance.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2014Publication date: December 17, 2015Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Publication number: 20150346735Abstract: A dumping well including a tank, upper and lower liquid level detectors, and a dump valve operated by pressurized fluid. The dumping well dumps liquid from the tank in response to liquid reaching an upper liquid level and ceases dumping liquid upon the liquid reaching a lower liquid level.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2014Publication date: December 3, 2015Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Patent number: 5975885Abstract: A flare stack with increased control of flow velocity of gases. The flare stack includes a pipe having a flare tip. The flare tip is provided with orifices and a sliding sleeve that opens and closes at least some of the orifices under control of an actuator. The actuator is pressure controlled. Nozzles extend from the orifices, parallel to each other. A central nozzle produces a stabilized flame. The nozzles which are controlled by the sliding sleeve are arranged in rings axially offset from each other along the pipe, so that the sleeve may open or close the nozzles in a ring as desired. The nozzles are symmetrically disposed, and terminate at the same plane, with the nozzles being disposed sufficiently close to each other that gas exiting any nozzle tends to draw in and merge with gas exiting from any adjacent nozzle.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Tornado Flare Systems, Inc.Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Patent number: 5954493Abstract: A nozzle for a pilot light for a flare stack, the nozzle being formed of a housing defined by an encircling cylindrical wall, with radially extending openings formed circumferentially around the encircling wall, and is made of material resistant against breakdown in a sour gas environment at temperatures at least less than 1200.degree. C., preferably 98% by weight alumina ceramic. A cage holds the nozzle, which includes a base plate having a central aperture and first and second sides, a tube extending into the aperture from the first side of the base plate and fixed to the base plate, and plural retainers extending from the base plate and enclosing the nozzle. To form a pilot for a flare stack, a gas conduit is connected into an interior cavity of the nozzle. The cage is attached to a flame stack. Spaced electrodes form a spark gap adjacent one of the openings in the nozzle. A source of electrical power is connected to one of the first and second electrodes.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1997Date of Patent: September 21, 1999Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski

Patent number: 5865613Abstract: A flare stack with smokeless burn and reduced steam consumption. The flare stack includes a central pipe having a flare tip. The flare tip has a top edge. An outer pipe surrounds the central pipe and forms an annulus between them. A spreader spreads gas from the central pipe into the annulus. Steam and air, with oxygen, are forced into the base of the annulus and past the spreader to mingle with the gas and create smokeless burning. Steam and air are supplied by at least one conical conduit leading into the annulus, the conduit having an inlet for the flow of steam into it, a steam manifold having an outlet corresponding to each conduit, each outlet being directed towards a corresponding inlet in the conduit; and an opening between each outlet and inlet for the flow of air into each conduit drawn by a venturi effect.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1996Date of Patent: February 2, 1999Inventor: Robert Carl Rajewski
