  • Patent number: 7130113
Abstract: A method passively locks and phases an array of fiber amplifiers in a fiber amplifier system that emits a beam, such as a laser beam. The method locks the fiber amplifiers so that the fiber amplifiers operate at same or similar frequencies. The method samples a small portion of the emitted beam in a far-field around a central lobe on an optical axis and then couples this portion of emitted beam back into the array of fiber amplifiers. The fiber amplifiers may be phased so that the emitted beam concentrates its energy around the central lobe in the far-field. Phasing may be achieved by using an aperture, for example, to restrict the portion of the emitted beam to be coupled back to a restricted region around the optical axis.

  • Publication number: 20050276826
Abstract: A delivery method and apparatus for massage oil is provided along with an associated massage oil composition. The massage oil is provided in a solid state at room temperature. The massage oil is heated to a liquid state at a temperature which is skin safe. The massage oil can then be applied to the skin and massaged into the skin. The massage oil can be provided in candle form to facilitate melting of the massage oil from the solid state to the liquid state. Compositions including primarily an oil such as hydrogenated soybean oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil or cocoa butter, which are solid at room temperature, provide a major constituent for the massage oil composition disclosed. Fragrances, emollients, moisturizers, sweeteners, flavorants or other constituents can also be included.

  • Patent number: 4795216
Abstract: Child-retaining belt comprises first and second flexible bands which are secured together adjacent the mid-section of each at an angle with respect to each other. Fastening devices are secured to the bands at all four ends thereof so that the crossing point of the bands can be placed in a chair, with the rearward pair of band ends attached behind the chair. The child is placed upon the crossing point, and the forward pair of band ends is brought up around the child's waist and back around the chair to be fastened together, thus retaining the child.
