    Abstract: An earth boring drill bit designed for a specific performance, within a finished product tolerance, using components built to a looser manufacturing tolerance. The bit may be assembled by selecting a leg from a plurality of pre-manufactured legs; selecting a bit body from a plurality of pre-manufactured bit bodies, the bit body having a slot for receiving the leg; placing the leg within the slot; and fixing the leg within the slot within the finished product tolerance by placing one or more shims between the leg and the slot. The shims may be used to adjust an axial position, a radial position, and/or a circumferential position of the leg with respect to the slot. The leg and the bit body may be selected, or produced, to ensure the bit will not meet the specification, given the manufacturing tolerance, without the shims.

The compacts can be made from a material such as cemented carbide, hardfacing, tungsten, tungsten alloys, tungsten carbide and the cutter made from steel.

    Abstract: A drill bit with a bit body having a central bore in communication with a plurality of nozzles for directing drilling fluid; a plurality of cutters defining a cutting face of the bit; and a passageway extending from the central bore toward the cutting face, such that excessive wear of the cutting face opens the passageway to allow the drilling fluid to flow therethrough, thereby reducing a surface pressure of the drilling fluid and indicating excessive wear of the bit. The passageway may extend to adjacent, or within one half inch or three inches of, the cutting face, such that excessive wear opens the passageway to the cutting face. In some cases, the passageway may actually extend through the cutting face with a plug inserted into the passageway at the cutting face to prevent the drilling fluid from exiting the passageway absent wear of the bit.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for dynamically organizing and tracking website content during its deployment. Organizing and tracking may be done internally to a website development system during development and externally to outside destinations such as production servers that provide access to websites via the Internet or intranet. The method of internal deployment includes the process of deploying data among workstations, storage areas, such as a backing store, staging areas, editing areas and other internal areas during the development of website content. According to the invention, a tracking system is able to track such changes as the content is being created, including information regarding their source and history. The method of external deployment includes different schemes for deploying the finished website content to one or more destinations, such as production servers, including a method for tracking the external deployments as to what content is sent, to where and by whom.
