  • Publication number: 20110048051
Abstract: The performance of central air conditioning (HVAC) units is significantly enhanced and the cost of operation of the same is greatly decreased by the elements of the present invention with the water spraying system which may include an electrically actuated solenoid valve to initiate the flow of water to the water spray nozzles in coordination with the beginning of the air conditioner compressor cycle. A drain valve unit may allow water to drain from the piping and water spray nozzles when the central air conditioning (HVAC) unit is not operating.

  • Patent number: 6780895
Abstract: Improvements in tuft bind and/or elongation of tufted carpet may be achieved by selecting, as components of a tuft bind adhesive, one or more of: i) a polyol component comprising a low or ultra-low unsaturation polyoxypropylene polyol optionally containing up to 30 weight percent oxyethylene moieties, and ii) a chain extender component comprising 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol.

  • Patent number: 6299715
Abstract: Laminated carpeting consisting of a secondary backing adhered to a greige good of yarn tufted into a primary backing are prepared from polyurethane adhesives by single puddle processes which allow for lowered use of polyurethane while producing carpets exhibiting excellent delamination strength. Preferably, a reactive polyurethane system is employed as a primary adhesive, and the secondary backing is skip-coated with a minor amount of a non-advancing skip coat.

  • Patent number: 5859081
Abstract: High quality, consistent polyurethane froth foams, both filled and unfilled, are prepared by directing polyol, isocyanate, and optionally other polyurethane-forming ingredients to a high pressure mix head prior to introducing the mixture to a froth foaming head. Changes in stoichiometry may be made rapidly without shut-down. An in-line blender incorporated filler into the polyol stream minimizing density differentials normally encountered in the holding tank, maintaining low and reproducible viscosity, and allowing for greater amounts of filler than otherwise possible.

  • Patent number: 5382602
Abstract: Flexible, slabstock polyurethane foam compositions useful for a rapid-cool process are disclosed. The foams are produced in the presence of a tetravalent tin catalyst, preferably at a relatively low isocyanate index, and preferably with a polyol that contains a non-volatile inhibitor. The foams of the invention eliminate or greatly reduce the amount of visible smoke produced in a rapid-cool process.
