Publication number: 20240155665Abstract: Techniques for delegated peer-to-peer scheduling are provided. A first peer-to-peer device determines one or more wireless channels allocated for peer-to-peer communication, and receives a request indicating a set of transmission characteristics from a second peer-to-peer device that uses the first peer-to-peer device as a communications proxy. The first peer-to-peer device schedules wireless resources of the one or more wireless channels to a plurality of peer-to-peer devices based at least in part on the set of transmission characteristics, and performs peer-to-peer communications with the second peer-to-peer device in accordance with the scheduled wireless resources.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: Brian D. HART, Malcolm M. SMITH, Pooya MONAJEMI, Jerome HENRY, Robert E. BARTON

Publication number: 20240155710Abstract: Techniques for improved peer-to-peer communication are provided. A set connectivity metrics among a set of wireless devices on a plurality of wireless channels in a wireless network is collected, and a wireless channel of the plurality of wireless channels is identified, based on the set of connectivity metrics, to use for peer-to-peer communication. A request is received, from a peer-to-peer device, for peer-to-peer communications, and the wireless channel is indicated to the peer-to-peer device, where the peer-to-peer device uses the first wireless channel for peer-to-peer communications in response to the indication.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: Brian D. Patent number: 8789731Abstract: Apparatus and methods for storing and transporting electronic devices. A housing includes a base, opposing sides, a movable cover, and an open lower end. The base has a cutout portion at the lower end. The movable cover is generally coextensive with and parallel to the base, and is resiliently biased into a normally closed position. The cover includes an access aperture at the lower end. Stop means are also provided at the lower end, partially blocking the opening and preventing a stored device from falling out of the housing's lower end. The cutout portion and the aperture allow entry of the user's hand into the housing for either insertion or withdrawal of the device. During either process, the user's hand causes the cover temporarily to be raised into an open position. A sling, a backpack harness, or a handle may be selectively attached to the housing for transport or storage.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2011Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Inventor: Robert D. Hart

Patent number: 6711763Abstract: An ultra lightweight hammock for suspension between two trees includes a rectangular top panel joined along at least three side and end edges to a bottom panel. An elongate opening permits access between the top and bottom panels. Tubular sleeves form each end of the hammock and receive elongate webs which extend from the ends of the tubular sleeves around an adjacent tree to be secured by an adjustable buckle attachment. An option pocket may be formed in the bottom panel to receive a sleeping pad.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2001Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Crazy Creek ProductsInventors: Robert F. Batchelder, Robert D. Hart

Patent number: 6342692Abstract: A thermal device for maintaining the temperature of body extremities is provided. The device includes a pocket adapted to receive a heating element and a strap attached to the pocket such that the device is adapted to encircle and be secured around a portion of the human body. The pocket has a tri-fold configuration formed from a rear panel, a front panel, and an intermediate panel positioned atop one another, the intermediate panel being positioned between the front panel and the rear panel. Each of the three panels is connected along their respective vertical side edges. The first horizontal edges of the front panel and the rear panel are fixedly attached forming a first open space between the front panel and the intermediate panel and the second horizontal edges of the rear panel and the intermediate panel are fixedly attached forming a second open space therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2000Date of Patent: January 29, 2002Assignee: Crazy Creek ProductsInventors: Robert D. Patent number: 4694599Abstract: An electromagnetic indicator capable of binary indication including a rotatably mounted semicircular flag assembly which can rotate between a first position ("set") and a second position ("fault") upon the receipt by the indicator of an electrical signal. A portion of the flag assembly is permanently magnetized and is magnetically latched in either the "set" or "fault" position by a magnetic latch which is preferably comprised of a bracket and core bar. The bracket has two ends which are positioned so that they are adjacent the magnetized portion of the flag assembly. The core bar is magnetically connected to an electromagnet and is also positioned adjacent a magnetized portion of the flag assembly. When the electromagnet is connected to the appropriate terminal of an electrical power source, the electromagnet generates a magnetic field, magnetizes the two ends of the bracket means and the core bar, and causes the flag assembly to flip from the "set" position to the "fault" position, or vice versa.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1985Date of Patent: September 22, 1987Assignee: Minelco, Inc.Inventors: Robert D. Hart, John J. Ambrozaitis

Patent number: 4652868Abstract: An indicator for monitoring a channel fault is located in each channel of a multichannel system. An interface is located between each indicator and channel being monitored to assure a response of the indicator under circumstances that a fault signal in the channel could not have otherwise activated the indicator.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1985Date of Patent: March 24, 1987Assignee: Minelco, Inc.Inventor: Robert D. Patent number: 4132986Abstract: An indicator flag is movable alternately into one of a plurality of display positions thereby to provide a distinguishable visual indication in each position. The indicator flag carried by a movable assembly is actuated by electromagnetic means and the movable assembly is latched in each display position. A pair of switches are associated with and controlled by the movable assembly from a normally closed to an open condition. The switches may function variously to control associated equipment or switch the electromagnetic means so that drive energy is required only during transition of the indicator flag from one of the plurality of display positions to another, among others.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1977Date of Patent: January 2, 1979Assignee: General Time CorporationInventors: Robert D. Hart, Robert Mazzamauro

Patent number: 4115769Abstract: A binary indicator including a pair of indicator discs mounted along a common axis has means for damping rotational movement of a resetting structure in one direction following movement imparted to the resetting structure in the other direction for purposes of resetting the relative positions of the indicator discs to their relative positions prior to their relative relocation occasioned by a fault or malfunction condition. One indicator disc undergoes movement, the movement in both directions being induced magnetically. And, movement of the resetting structure in the other rotational direction is against the forces of rotational elasticity of spring means. A force for damping rotational movement of the resetting structure in the one rotational direction is developed by viscous-shear frictional engagement between a pair of friction discs biased into juxtaposition with a viscous film therebetween by the spring means under compression.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1977Date of Patent: September 19, 1978Assignee: General Time CorporationInventors: Robert D.
