Patents by Inventor Robert D. Strattan

Robert D. Strattan has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4896010
Abstract: The invention features a sanitization method and apparatus utilizing multiple microwave sources. Bacteria are killed by the combination of microwave heated water vapor, which is allowed to accumulate within the sealed chamber, and the microwave field effect acting in synergy with the accumulated water vapor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1988
Date of Patent: January 23, 1990
    Assignee: Micro Dry, Incorporated
Inventors: Mary E. O'Connor, Michel J. Cloutier, Robert D. Strattan, James R. Sorem, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4829679
Abstract: The invention features a sanitization method and apparatus utilizing multiple microwave sources. Bacteria are killed by the combination of microwave heated water vapor and the microwave filed effect. Articles such as moist fabrics, that are contained within a substantially sealed chamber, can be sanitized and dried by this method.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 1987
Date of Patent: May 16, 1989
    Assignee: Micro Dry, Incorporated
Inventors: Mary E. O'Connor, Michael J. Cloutier, Robert D. Strattan, James R. Sorem, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4795871
Abstract: The invention relates to a microwave heating and drying method and apparatus utilizing a multiplicity of microwave propagating sources positioned about a heating and drying chamber. The microwave energies are optimized to provide a greater uniformity in the heating and drying of articles disposed in the heating and drying chamber, while preventing interference of the wave propagations. The microwave pulses are cross-polarized and time-multiplexed. Also, the focusing and spread angles are controlled. The end point of the drying cycle is sensed to control microwave generation.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 3, 1989
    Assignee: Micro Dry, Inc.
Inventors: Robert D. Strattan, Mary E. O'Connor, James R. Sorem, Jr.
