  • Patent number: 9381924
Abstract: Exemplary double-decker vehicle for railway rolling stock for the transport of passengers comprises at least: one lower deck and one upper deck, each deck having a multiplicity of seats for passengers, and at least one access door with an access step. According to aspects of the system, apparatus, and method, the vehicle can include, among other features, a circulation system connecting the access step to the upper deck and having at least two sloping circulation paths to provide access for persons with reduced mobility to the upper deck.

  • Publication number: 20110167884
Abstract: Device for locking the door of a toilet cubicle comprising a door locking element operated manually from inside the cubicle, the said locking element allowing the vacant and engaged states of the cubicle to be selected and the door to be locked when the engaged state is selected, the said device including an information mechanism located on the door at least on the outside of the cubicle and providing at least two tactile and visual indicators of the state selected by the locking element, characterized in that the information mechanism includes raised pictograms to provide a tactile indicator.

  • Patent number: 4627249
Abstract: A latch has spaced inner and outer plates formed with respective coaxial bores. The outer plate is formed at its bore with at least one notch and the inner plate is formed adjacent its bore with at least two angularly offset and axially extending cutouts. A plug extending through the bores and rotatable therein about the axis has an outer head in the outer bore and accessible from outside the plates and an opposite inner end exposed inward past the inner plate. A locking dog extends radially from the plug in the space between the plates. An inner abutment washer is secured to the inner end of the plug and spaced axially inward of the inner plate and a retaining washer angularly nondisplaceable on the inner end of the plug has a bump engageable in the cutouts of the inner plate. A compression spring braced between the washers urges the bump into the cutouts. A key engageable with the plug head has a radial tab complementary with the notch of the outer plate.

  • Patent number: 4508469
Abstract: A manhole structure comprising a circular frame formed with a pair of diametrically opposite inwardly and upwardly open recesses traversed by respective pivot pins and a further pair of diametrically opposite brackets having inwardly and upwardly open recesses. A pair of semicircular cover heads, each has three radially projecting lugs including a pivot lug engaging a respective one of the pins and a pair of support lugs at opposite ends of the rectilinear edge of the cover half. The pivot lug has a pocket receiving the pin and communicating with a narrow slot whereby the pivot lug is inserted over the pin, the pocket being shaped so that when the cover is swung open, it can be braced between the pin and an edge of the recess. All of the recesses have wedge-forming inclined flanks which engage inclined flanks of the cover halves to support the latter in their closed positions.

  • Patent number: 4364689
Abstract: A manhole cover assembly comprises a seating ring which can be inset in a street or roadway surface and which is formed with a pair of lateral compartments in which respective latches of the plug-like cover can be received. According to the invention, the cover has a pair of opposing radial projections adapted to be received under respective projections of the ring upon rotation of the cover relative to the ring in bayonet action. Each of the latches is in the form of a pawl pivotal about a respective pin on the radial projection and adapted to swing so that a surface of the pawl substantially completely closes the compartment, flush with the upper surface of the ring and an end wall of the pawl abuts or is juxtaposed with the wall of the compartment to prevent rotation of the cover. The pawl can have flanges which, when the pawls are swung upwardly, form handles enabling the cover to be lifted from the ring.

  • Patent number: 4175781
Abstract: A manhole cover is secured to a support ring by means of a latch member which is rotatable in a cavity formed in the manhole cover between a pair of upper and lower walls having respective upper and lower throughgoing apertures. The latch member is rotatable and has a lower end projecting through the lower aperture and an upper end underneath the upper aperture and formed at the axis of rotation of the latch member with a socket opening toward the upper aperture. The socket in the upper aperture is of similar shape and of like radial extensions. The rim has a formation cooperating with the lower end of the latching member for locking of the cover and the support ring together in a locking angular position of the latching member relative to its rotation axis in permitting separation of the cover and the support ring in an angular offset freeing position. The radial extensions of the socket and upper aperture are axially aligned only in the locking position.
