  • Publication number: 20240140752
Abstract: A web winding process is disclosed for controlling one or more characteristics of a web of material being wound into a roll. In one aspect, the system includes a weighing platform that weighs the roll of material as the roll of material is building. From this information, a basis weight characteristic of the web is determined. One or more parameters in the web making process can be controlled in order to ensure that the basis weight characteristic of the web of material stays within preset limits. In this manner, rolls of material can be produced having uniform characteristics and dimensional stability.

  • Publication number: 20240075507
Abstract: A dust collector includes a container defining an interior volume and an opening. A scraper is positioned within the interior volume of the container, and an edge of the scraper is positioned adjacent an inner surface of the container. A collection motor is coupled to the container and is operable to rotate the container about an axis of rotation between at least a first orientation and a second orientation. The container is positioned and oriented for collecting dust within the interior volume of the container via the opening of the container in the first orientation. The container is positioned and oriented for discharging dust from the interior volume of the container via the opening of the container in the second orientation. A trough is disposed below the container. The trough is positioned for receipt of the dust from the interior volume of the container when the container is in the second orientation.

  • Patent number: 11679524
Abstract: The lubrication device delivers a lubricant to the perforating device which provides intermittently spaced cuts to a moving web, also referred to as perforations. The lubrication device includes a retaining member, a plenum, and a comb having a plurality of comb channels. The plenum and the plurality of comb channels are in fluid communication with one another and deliver a lubricant to the perforating device. Lubrication of the perforating device in this manner may improve knife life, perforation quality and web handling.

  • Publication number: 20210062424
Abstract: The disclosure is directed towards a through-air drying system comprising a hood and a rotatable cylinder with a porous cylindrical deck. The system includes a seal, and more particularly a seal along the lateral edges of the system. The seal generally prevents the exhaust of drying medium from the system through the gap between the hood and the rotatable cylinder and enables the system to be operated at positive air pressure. The seal may be formed by providing the hood with an axial hood flange, which extends at least partially along the bottom edge of the hood and overlaps an axial annular flange disposed on the cylinder when the hood is in a closed and sealed position.
