  • Patent number: 5727418
Abstract: A sheet metal working tool particularly adapted for vehicle body repair comprising a slide hammer assembly attached to a suction cup from which air is drawn through the assembly. The tool incorporates a compressed air-operated vacuum ejector functioning on the venturi principle into a stop on the end of the slide hammer assembly opposite the suction cup. The exhaust stream is effectively muffled and diffused through a collar of hard, rugged, porous material that fits within a channel in the surface of the vacuum ejector/stop and that completely covers the port through which the exhaust exists the vacuum ejector/stop. The suction cup is reinforced by an internally located stiffener, and shock loads that may damage the threaded connections among components of the tool are damped by a shock absorbing hose connected to the vacuum ejector/stop.

  • Patent number: 4909889
Abstract: A wood bending and laminating fixture for forming curved millwork members, particularly such members utilized to construct windows having curved tops. An adjustable height platform receives interchangeable plywood form plates of a variety of desired shapes and sizes, and a rack from which a belt is suspended is forced away from the platform with a hydraulic jack in order to draw the belt against the periphery of the forming plates in order to bend and apply pressure to the workpiece between the forming plates and the belt. Movable rods are received in a series of holes in rack arms in order to move the points within the rack from which the belt is suspended and shorten or lengthen the working length of the belt. A bout former makes possible formation of curved workpieces which include a reverse curve.

  • Patent number: 4886568
Abstract: An adjustable radius wood laminate bending and gluing fixture for forming curved wood workpieces from laminate stacks by compressing the laminate stacks between two flexible bands which are drawn against adjustably positionable stanchions which define the desired curve by their position in radial slots on a stanchion supporting bed. Tension is applied to bands in order to draw them against the stanchions by cables which pass from the bands over laterally positionable cranes using hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic cylinders are also used to reposition the cranes in the course of modifying the fixture set-up in order to produce workpieces having a different size or shape. A ruler affixed to the bed center point may be rotated about that center in order quickly and conveniently to establish stanchion position for production of workpieces having a semi-circular form.

  • Patent number: 4753104
Abstract: A sheet metal working tool particularly adapted for automobile body repair comprising a slide hammer assembly attached to a suction cup from which air is drawn through the assembly. One embodiment utilizes a separate vacuum pump or ejector connected to the assembly through a vacuum hose. Another embodiment incorporates a compressed air-operated vacuum ejector functioning on the venturi principle into a stop on the end of the slide hammer assembly opposite the suction cup.

  • Patent number: 4109346
Abstract: There is disclosed a pivot and support mounting arrangement for a pivotal door arrangement which permits the door to be adjusted quite easily with respect to the door frame. The arrangement includes a pintle assembly carried by the door and a support arrangement mounted proximate to a lower corner of the door frame, and receiving a projecting portion of the pintle assembly. The support arrangement includes a bracket having an elongate channel-like opening in which is mounted a pintle support block, and selective engageable means to prevent relative movement. A recess is formed in the pintle support block to receive the pintle end portion, and spring means is associated with the support block tending to bias it upwardly. In the assembled condition the weight of the door will overcome the biasing force provided by the spring and the engageable means will be inter-engaged to preclude movement of the support block relative to the bracket.
