  • Patent number: 10087878
Abstract: A system includes a cylinder head for a reciprocating engine and a cylinder head cover configured to couple to the cylinder head. The cylinder head cover may include an ignition plug sleeve extension configured to house a portion of an ignition plug within the cylinder head cover. The ignition plug sleeve extension is integral to the cylinder head cover.

  • Publication number: 20160047332
Abstract: A system a cylinder head for a reciprocating engine. The cylinder head includes an ignition plug wall surrounding a bore configured to receive an ignition plug, where the ignition plug wall is integral to the cylinder head, the bore has a diameter, and the ignition plug wall has a thickness. The cylinder head also includes a cooling cavity completely separated from the bore via the ignition plug wall, where the cooling cavity has a radial width relative to an axis of the bore. The cylinder head further includes at least one of a first ratio of a minimum of the thickness versus a minimum of the diameter less than approximately 0.5 or a second ratio of a minimum of the radial width versus the minimum of the diameter less than approximately 0.5, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 9149768
Abstract: A passive mid bed air injection apparatus for an engine includes a three way catalyst positioned in an exhaust stream of the engine. The three way catalyst reduces NOx, CO and HC from the exhaust stream. The three way catalyst includes an ammonia slip catalyst positioned in the exhaust stream of the engine. The ammonia slip catalyst is positioned downstream from the three way catalyst and oxidizes NH3 and CO from the exhaust stream. The three way catalyst includes an oxygen input disposed between the three way catalyst and the ammonia slip catalyst such that the oxygen input delivers air downstream from the three way catalyst and upstream from the ammonia slip catalyst. The oxygen input receives the air from a charged side of a forced induction device and delivers the air to the exhaust stream entering the ammonia slip catalyst. An associated method also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150211512
Abstract: A converterless motor-driven pump system includes an off-grid prime mover. The prime mover includes a rotational driveshaft that operates in response to a throttle or fuel input controller to control a rotation speed of the prime mover driveshaft. Operation of the throttle or fuel input controller is based on desired output characteristics of a pumping load. One or more electric power generators are driven by the off-grid prime mover to generate AC or DC power on an electrical bus shared by a plurality of variable speed electric motors. A plurality of pumps is connected to a common manifold shared by the plurality of pumps. The plurality of pumps is driven by the plurality of variable speed electric motors to generate a desired wellhead pressure or pumping load flow rate via the shared common manifold.
