  • Publication number: 20190328638
Abstract: The present invention relates to antiperspirant compositions. In particular, the present invention relates to anhydrous antiperspirant aerosol compositions comprising a humectant with superior ability to absorb water. Although the prior art provides for various solutions to the problem of interaction between the humectant the antiperspirant actives in anhydrous antiperspirant aerosol compositions, improved ways of addressing this problem still remains to be desired. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a humectant which does not interact with the antiperspirant actives in an anhydrous antiperspirant aerosol composition. It has been found that stable anhydrous antiperspirant aerosol compositions wherein the humectant and the antiperspirant active does not interact can be achieved by the use of specific sugar alcohols as the humectant in specific concentrations in the composition.

  • Publication number: 20120039833
Abstract: The visual appearance of skin such as axilla skin is not improved significantly by topical application of an antiperspirant composition that is a stick that comprises at least 8% by weight of a fatty alcohol gellant. The visual appearance of a cosmetic antiperspirant composition comprising 5-30% of an astringent antiperspirant salt, 40-80% of a continuous liquid phase comprising at least one water-immiscible oil and 5-30% of a fatty alcohol wax gellant, as indicated by tone, radiance and smoothness, is enhanced by incorporating at least 0,25% of a mica pigment, optionally on the presence of a di or tri-hydric humectant and/or a triglyceride oil. Preferably the composition comprises 20 to 35% by weight of a non-volatile oil, and/or a co-gellant that melts at from 75 to 90° C. such as caster wax or polyethylene of molecular weight 300 to 600.
