  • Patent number: 11521716
Abstract: In an embodiment, a computer-implemented process comprises accessing a plurality of digitally stored, unstructured medical diagnostic data; digitally displaying a first subset of the medical diagnostic data, the first subset of the medical diagnostic data including at least a first set of diagnostic reports, using a computer display device, concurrently with digitally displaying one or more quality control checklists that are specific to a medical discipline represented in the first set of diagnostic reports; receiving digital input specifying one or more errors in the first set of diagnostic reports and digitally storing the digital input in association with the first subset of medical diagnostic data; training a hierarchical Bayesian machine learning model using the digital input and the first subset of medical diagnostic data; evaluating the hierarchical Bayesian machine learning model, after training, for a second subset of the medical diagnostic data, the second subset being different from the first subs

  • Publication number: 20220375574
Abstract: Described are techniques for determining an accurate ground-truth Bayesian Inter-Reviewer Agreement Rate (BIRAR) from unreliable sources. For instance, a process can include obtaining an initial set of diagnostic imaging exams, wherein each diagnostic imaging exam includes a severity grade associated with an initial radiologist. For each diagnostic imaging exam, two or more secondary quality assurance (QA) reviews can be obtained for each diagnostic imaging exam, wherein the secondary QA reviews are associated with QA'ing radiologists different than the initial radiologist. One or more inter-reviewer agreement rates can be determined for the QA'ing radiologists, based on the secondary QA reviews associated with the QA'ing radiologists.

  • Publication number: 20210379397
Abstract: A UV-mask for treating keratoconus. The UV-mask could be made by having an image representing a surface of the patient's cornea with a topography map indicating an area of abnormal corneal thickness. The image is printed onto a sheet. The sheet is cut on or around the area of abnormal corneal thickness to create a transparent window in the sheet. The sheet is further cut on or around the corneal surface to result in a UV-mask. Also disclosed is a UV-mask for use in UV-irradiation treatment of keratoconus. Also disclosed are methods of treating keratoconus in an eye of a patient using a UV-mask.

  • Patent number: 9201159
Abstract: Various disclosed nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) logging systems and methods employ an array of antennas to provide increased resolution without sacrificing signal-to-noise ratio. Certain method embodiments include: establishing a static magnetic field (B0) with a tool moving along a borehole through a formation; concurrently driving a multiple antenna cells to produce a radio frequency field (B1) in said formation; measuring an individual response from each antenna cell as nuclear spins undergo precession in the formation; and determining at least one characteristic relaxation time of the formation based at least in part on the individual response. The individual responses can be associated with positions where the individual responses were measured, and the relaxation time can be determined from a combination of those responses associated with a given position. Certain responses may be excluded due to tool motion that degrades the measured response.

  • Publication number: 20060108116
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided to accelerate the cooling of thermally sensitive components in a chamber of a downhole instrument assembly. In accordance with the invention, a passage is formed in the chamber and a fluid is conveyed through the passage to cool the components to the desired temperature. By using the method and apparatus of the present invention the amount of time to cool the components is dramatically less than the time required for cooling using conventional techniques.
