  • Patent number: 8725794
Abstract: An enhanced tracking system comprises an enhanced tracking server for storing and remotely executing one or more third party tags that have been removed from a client website. As a result, a visitor browser only needs to process the webpage itself such that the time required for a browser to display at the client website is reduced. The remote processing of the third party tags is able to be initiated by an enhanced tag placed on the client website or through a redirect process.

  • Patent number: 6807342
Abstract: A tunable filter with a flattopped passband is provided for use as a micromachined optical filter with input and output optical fibers which provides a wavelength tunability with several discrete wavelengths and a flattopped passband. The standard Fabry-Perot resonator is modified by incorporating multilayer dielectrics to form a pair of interference filters, one of which is vibrated to provide for tunability and provision of several resonant wavelengths. The layers can either be deposited on an existing dielectric slab of a Fabry-Perot device or included on the ends of the input and output optical fibers which are then incorporated into the Fabry-Perot device.

  • Publication number: 20030179996
Abstract: A fiber optic apparatus interfaces a single mode fiber into free space for coupling to active or passive devices with a collimated or parallel ray beam. This is accomplished by splicing or fusing to the end of the single mode fiber one of two types of lenses. The first type uses a graded index fiber which is cut to an odd multiple of a quarter wavelength of the light beam. The second technique is to use a step index fiber with a curved end forming a lens having a length relative to a hypotenuse line along the angle of emission of a single mode fiber to subtend half of the diameter of the core of the step index fiber. This, depending on the curvature at the end of the step index fiber, will produce either a collimated beam or a beam focused to a point.

  • Patent number: 6549107
Abstract: A latching mechanism for a MEMS actuator as, for example, a mirror in an N×N fiber optic switch, maintains a thermally actuated mirror in its actuated position even in the event of a power interruption by a pair of clamps, which clamp against an actuator arm. Such actuator arm is thermally actuated by a bent beam type of thermal actuator. To provide for effective fabrication using the MEMS technique (microelectromechanical system), on for example, a silicon substrate where the entire moveable structure is a suspended mechanism, the clamps are fabricated in a normally closed position. In this position they typically interfere with the line of motion of an enlarged portion of an actuator arm being directly in the line of motion or with a post and slot technique.

  • Patent number: 5582563
Abstract: A rowing exercise machine is made up of a base, a seat member and a control member. The base comprises a curved portion, an inclined portion and an arcuate portion. The inclined portion and the arcuate portion are provided respectively with a leg for supporting the base on a floor. The seat member comprises a seat rod which is fastened pivotally at one end thereof with the arcuate portion and is provided at another end thereof with a saddle. The control member comprises a driving frame and two handles. The driving frame is fastened pivotally with the arcuate portion of the base while the handles are fastened with the seat rod of the seat member. The driving frame is provided with two pedals fastened thereto. The handles are fastened respectively with a connection rod which is fastened pivotally at the bottom end thereof with a roller. The connection rods are actuated by the handles so as to cause the saddle to move upwards.

  • Patent number: 5575741
Abstract: An exercise mechanism includes a pair of foot posts having a lower end pivotally coupled to a base. A seat post has a front end pivotally coupled to the base and has a shaft rotatably secured to the middle portion. An extension is extended from the shaft and rotated in concert with the shaft. A lever has a middle portion pivotally coupled to the base at an axle and has a rod secured in the rear end and slidably engaged beneath the seat post. A link pivotally couples the lever to the foot post. A bar is pivotally coupled between the extension and the rod for moving the rod relative to the shaft and for rotating the lever about the axle. A pair of handles have a lower portion secured to the shaft for rotating the shaft and the extension. The rear end of the seat post is moved upward and downward by the rod when the lever is rotated about the axle by the extension.
