  • Patent number: 8130854
Abstract: Several subscriber signals are transmitted simultaneously and at the same frequency by a central transmitter to several decentralized receivers which do not cooperate with each other, by digital message transmission in a broadcast channel. A common transmission signal, which enables an error-free individual reception, should be generated with knowledge of all subscriber signals and of the current transmission conditions, by signal preprocessing methods on the transmission side. Known nonlinear precoding methods totally suppress the interference signals, so that the channel diversity cannot be used. In the claimed precoding method, the occurring interference signals are, on the contrary, taken into account.

  • Publication number: 20110062918
Abstract: In a method for monitoring the operating state of a battery, preferably a Ni metal hydride or a Li-ion battery, formed of consisting of one or several interconnected battery cells, during the charging and discharging of the battery a low-frequency alternating current signal or voltage signal is applied to the battery. The resulting voltage or current signal is measured and the operating state of the battery or its battery cells is determined from at least one change in the harmonic distortion content of the measured voltage or current signal.

  • Patent number: 7721832
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle suspension system. There is a need for a stable walking beam suspension system where the beam can oscillate and move vertically. Such a suspension system includes a support fixed to the vehicle frame and having first and second ends. A swing arm has a first end pivotally coupled to the first end of the support via a pair of spaced apart pivot pins. Air bags are coupled between the frame and the second end of the swing arm. A walking beam has opposite ends coupled to left and right wheel support assemblies. The walking beam is pivotally coupled to the swing arm. A damping cylinder is coupled between the frame and the second end of the swing arm. Resilient bumper members are engagable with the walking beam and are mounted on an end of the swing arm and fixed to an end of the support.

  • Patent number: 7286922
Abstract: The magnitude of torque which can be transmitted by a bypass clutch between the housing and the turbine of a torque converter between a prime mover, such as an engine, and an automatic transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle is selectively regulatable by a computerized regulating unit. The regulation involves the transmission of torque by the clutch in dependency upon the magnitude of the torque being transmitted by the output element of the engine and ascertaining as well as adaptively applying to the clutch a variable force so that the clutch can transmit a predetermined torque. This entails automatic selection of a minimum slip between a torque receiving and a torque transmitting part of the power train. Compensation, particularly long-range compensation, is carried out for the existence of possible differences between the predetermined and actual torques being transmitted by the clutch.
