  • Patent number: 10198153
Abstract: A device that orders items for switching may include a processor circuit. The processor circuit may be configured to identify items that are available for switching, wherein each of the items is associated with a first attribute and a second attribute. The processor circuit may be further configured to order the items based at least in part on the first attributes of the items. The processor circuit may be further configured to determine a subset of the items for display, wherein the subset includes a first number of the ordered items. The processor circuit may be further configured to order the subset of the items based at least on the second attributes of the items. The processor circuit may be further configured to display ordered representations corresponding to the ordered subset of the items for switching. The ordered representations may remain unchanged after switching to an item of the subset.

  • Publication number: 20180217727
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to scaling an application window. A method includes determining a first window size for an application, and instructing the application to render at the first window size. The method also includes determining a second window size for the application, scaling the first window size to the second window size based on a scale value, and displaying the scaled application at the second window size. The scaling allows a full-screen view of the application to be displayed on a smaller window, or allows shrinking the application window to a size below a normal minimum window size. Inputs to the scaled window are also scaled so that the application continues to behave as if rendered at the first window size.

  • Publication number: 20170102764
Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine-readable media transitioning between two power states based on user-related signals are provided. A computing device in a first power state may monitor multiple sensors and receive first sensor signals from a first group of the sensors. One or more radio frequency (RF) signals may be received from one or more nearby communication devices. The first sensor signals may be used to determine that the computing device has been picked up and, in response, an application processor maybe activated. The application processor may select a second power state based on the first power state and the first sensor signals. The second power state includes a power on state when the first power state is a suspended power state and the first sensor signals indicate that the computing device has been picked up while being touched on a screen. The computing device is transitioned to the second power state.

  • Patent number: 5478669
Abstract: An electrochemical cell of cylindrical type, with a metal can, an anode, a separator and a cathode arranged concentrically in one another, an aqueous alkaline electrolyte solution, and a closure assembly. The closure assembly comprises a plastic top inserted in the open end of the can and has an outer cylindrical zone, a lower rim, a central portion defining a central bore, and an intermediate portion interconnecting the central portion with the lower rim. A current collector nail is inserted through the central bore and penetrates into the anode. A negative cap of a metal sheet material forms the negative terminal of the cell. The negative cap has a flange portion ending in an inwardly bent rim, the can has a bead at a specific distance from its open end, and the bead serves as an abutment member for the closure assembly when inserted in the can. The plastic top defines a conforming support surface for the inwardly bent rim substantially at the connection zone of the outer cylindrical zone and the lower rim.

  • Patent number: 5281497
Abstract: Low mercury or mercury free primary or secondary alkaline manganese dioxide-zinc cell that comprises a manganese dioxide cathode with a manganese dioxide active material and a conductive powder. The active material and powder are uniformly mixed and pressed to form a porous cathode body. The cell further comprises a gelled zinc anode, a separator between the cathode and the anode, and an alkaline electrolyte. The anode gel comprises a modified starch as a gelling agent capable of releasing hydrogen gases developed during slow corrosion of zinc in the anode.A hydrogen recombination system can be used in the cell to limit inside pressure within permitted limits by recombining the evolved hydrogen.

  • Patent number: 5272020
Abstract: Cylindrical alkaline manganese dioxide-zinc cell with improved bottom sealing, where the cell comprises a coaxial assembly of a metal can closed at the bottom, a cylindrical cathode inserted in the can up to abutment at the bottom with an insulating member, a separator system in direct contact with internal surface of the cathode, a zinc anode arranged in the hollow interior of the separator system and insulated from the can, an alkaline electrolyte. The separator system extends up to the bottom end of the cathode, and a thermoplastic sealant is provided at the bottom edge zone of the separator system extending into said zone as a bead. The sealant impregnates the separator system at said edge zone.
