Abstract: Methods and devices for determining whether a mobile device has been compromised. The mobile device has a managed portion of memory and an unmanaged portion of memory, a managed profile and an unmanaged profile, and the managed profile includes files stored in the managed portion of memory and the unmanaged profile includes files stored in the unmanaged portion of memory. The managed profile is governed by a device policy set by a remote administrator. File tree structure information for the unmanaged profile of the mobile device is obtained that details at least a portion of a tree-based structure of folders and files in the unmanaged portion of memory. It is determined from the file tree structure information that the mobile device has been compromised and, based on that determination, an action is taken.

Abstract: The systems and methods described here can reduce the storage space required (memory and/or disk) to store certain types of data, provide efficient (fast) creation, modification and retrieval of such data, and support such data within the framework of a multi-version database. In some embodiments, the systems and methods can store each field of a set of records as a vector of values, e.g., a data vector. A set of records can be represented using a vector id vector, or “vid” vector, wherein each element of the vid vector contains a reference to the memory location of a data vector. A header table can store associations between labels and “vid” vectors that pertain to those labels. Identical data vectors can be re-used between different record sets or vid vectors needing that vector, thus saving space.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for strategy science methodology involving computer implementation is provided. The invention includes a well-defined set of procedures for carrying out a full range of projects to develop strategies for clients. One embodiment of the invention produces custom consulting projects that are found at one end of the full range of projects. At the other end of the range are, for example, projects developing strategies from syndicated models. The strategies developed are for single decisions or for sequences of multiple decisions.

Abstract: A network router for coupling a Local Area Network to a Wide Area Network such as the Internet or an intranet includes a smart card device for receiving and reading a smart card. The smart card will include information needed for permitting the router to access the Internet or intranet, such as an access phone number, an encryption key, configuration data, and an ID and password. A specified security level can also be stored within the information on the smart card to restrict such access.

Abstract: An electrical machine, such as a router, switch, hub, etc., includes a housing in which a Primary Backplane and Secondary Backplane are mounted in stacked spaced relationship. A primary Bus is fabricated on the Primary Backplane and a secondary Bus is fabricated on the Secondary Backplane. Connectors with feed through elements provide mechanical support and electrical transmission between the Primary Backplane and Secondary Backplane.
