  • Patent number: 7028488
Abstract: A method of dispensing a liquid material from a source container which includes a blend of fluids of a first composition that normally fractionate upon boiling. A material of a second composition (different than that of the first composition) and capable of maintaining the first composition of the material remaining in the source container is added to the source container during the transfer of liquid from the source container. This addition of a material of a second composition to the supply container during the transfer can minimize and/or even eliminate fractionation of the liquid in the source tank.

  • Patent number: 6338255
Abstract: A device for recharging an a/c system with dye containing refrigerant using recovery/recycle/recharging equipment. The device connects to the recovery/recycle/recharging equipment so as to allow the refrigerant/dye mixture to bypass the purification process of such equipment and has a main valve having first and second inlets and an outlet. The first inlet connects to a source of refrigerant/dye mixture, the second inlet connects to the recovery/recycle/recharging equipment and the internal refrigerant tank therein, and the outlet connects to the a/c system to be recharged. The main valve is operable to provide a first fluid path from the first inlet to the outlet while isolating the second inlet, and a second fluid path from the second inlet to the outlet while isolating the first inlet. In operation the device allows the isolation of the recovery/recycle/recharging equipment refrigerant tank while virgin refrigerant with dye is added to the a/c system.

  • Publication number: 20020000534
Abstract: The present invention provides refrigerant blends which are replacements for chlorodifluoromethane(HCFC-22). The present blends have refrigeration characteristics which are similar to HCFC-22. The blends comprise from about 10 to about 90 weight percent of a first component selected from the group consisting of 1,1,1-trifluoroethane, difluoromethane, propane, and mixtures thereof; from about 1 to about 50 weight percent of a second component selected from the group consisting of hydrofluorocarbon having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, fluorocarbon having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, inorganic compound, and mixtures thereof having a boiling point at atmospheric pressure in the range from about −90 degrees C. to less than −50 degrees C.; and from about 1 to about 50 weight percent of a third component which is hydrofluorocarbon having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, other than 1,1,1-trifluoroethane, having a boiling point at atmospheric pressure in the range from about −50 degrees C. to about −10 degrees C.

  • Patent number: 6234352
Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing and dispensing in liquid form a blend of fluids which normally fractionate upon boiling. The apparatus includes a container having an internal bladder dividing the container into two chambers. The first chamber contains the liquid blend, and the second chamber contains a pressurizing fluid in sufficient quantity to maintain the pressure on the other side of the bladder in the first chamber above the bubble point pressure of the liquid blend. In this manner, the vapor space above the fluid blend is eliminated, and thus the effect of fractionation caused by vaporization is essentially eliminated during dispensing or leakage of the blend from the package.

  • Patent number: 6200495
Abstract: Premixes of a polyol suitable for polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam preparation, 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane and optionally additives and/or auxiliary blowing agents which do not require a stabilizer to inhibit reaction between the fluorocarbon and the polyol. These mixtures are useful for polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam preparation.

  • Patent number: 5162381
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel, environmentally acceptable blowing agent and blowing agent blends and a process for producing thermalplastic, and particularly polyolefin foams using the environmentally acceptable blowing agent(s). The blowing agents of the present invention comprise difluoromethane and optionally a second blowing agent component which is nonflammable and possesses good blowing agent properties. Polyolefin foam is made by mixing a polyolefin resin and the blowing agent and introducing the resin/blowing agent mixture into a zone of lower pressure.
