Publication number: 20240127276Abstract: Example methods and apparatus for associating media devices with a demographic composition of a geographic area are disclosed. Disclosed example apparatus are to obtain a plurality of Internet Protocol addresses assigned to a media device associated with a panel member. Disclosed example apparatus are also to determine a most used Internet Protocol address from the plurality of Internet Protocol addresses, determine a geographic location corresponding to the most used Internet Protocol address, associate a geographic area with the media device in response to a determination that the geographic location corresponds to a location of an internet service provider, determine a demographic profile associated with the geographic area, and associate the demographic profile with the media device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 9, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: The Nielsen Company (US), LLCInventors: Jan Besehanic, Paul Mears, Joseph G. Milavsky, Robert A. Luff, Arun Ramaswamy, David Howell Wright

Patent number: 5265201Abstract: A master-slave processor human interface system. An electronic device, a slave processor for controlling the electronic device and performing certain computational functions, a master processor for controlling the slave processor, an input device and an output device associated with the master processor, and an information storage device are provided. Individual slave processor programs are selected, retrieved from the information storage device, and loaded into the slave processor for implementing corresponding functions of the slave processor and electronic device, while a single master processor program which adapts itself to the selected slave processor program accepts input data and operational selections and displays output information according to a predetermined spatial arrangement for each such function, thereby providing the human interface.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1992Date of Patent: November 23, 1993Assignee: Audio Precision, Inc.Inventors: Richard C. Cabot, Robert G. Wright, Carl A. Hovey

Patent number: 5172089Abstract: A fluid detection device designed to detect the presence of fluids in a flowing or non-flowing state and having the ability to energize or de-energize large current devices such as a swimming pool pump motor. It is equipped with a fluid detector tube designed to be mounted to a vertical fluid carrying conduit such as an intake to a pump. The fluid detector tube has an internal float with permanent magnet and a normally open magnetic reed switch mounted to its exterior. The float with permanent magnet at its highest vertical position closes the magnetic reed switch's contacts and activates a phase shift network. The current through the reed switch is less than fifteen millamps. The phase shift network forward biases a diac which in turn forward biases a traic. The traic completes the connection from a power source to a large current device. The de-energize state of the traic is stabilized by a snubber network. The energize state of the traic is stabilized by the phase shift network and diac.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1991Date of Patent: December 15, 1992Inventors: Jane F. Wright, Robert G. Wright

Patent number: 4341180Abstract: An animal litter is prepared by de-watering rejects of a secondary fiber plant, incorporating a deodorant therein, for example, sodium bicarbonate, pelletizing, and drying. The rejects on a dry basis consist essentially of about 50 percent to about 90 percent cellulose and from about 10 percent to about 50 percent fiber making mineral filler, usually kaolin, and sodium bicarbonate is incorporated therein in the amount of between about 1 percent to about 10 percent on the dry basis. Paper broke also may be incorporated.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 1979Date of Patent: July 27, 1982Assignee: James River Corporation of VirginiaInventors: Louis R. Cortigene, Robert G. Wright

Patent number: 4235160Abstract: A percolator having a cylindrical basket concentric with a wand is provided with a filter paper cup having an annular bottom coextensive with the bottom of the basket and having upstanding fluted sides. The filter cups are formed by cutting and forming them into a nest of cups having an imperforate bottom, transferring the nest of cups to a frusto-conical die having a circular top commensurate with the circular bottom of the filter cups, a central die-hole, and outwardly and downwardly flaring sides corresponding to the natural outward flare of the nested cups, and punching an axial hole in said nested cups while on said die by means of a punch complementary with said die-hole.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1978Date of Patent: November 25, 1980Assignee: Brown CompanyInventors: Wallace E. Olney, Robert G. Wright

Patent number: 4094234Abstract: A percolator having a cylindrical basket concentric with a wand is provided with a filter paper cup having an annular bottom coextensive with the bottom of the basket and having upstanding fluted sides, characterized in that the flutes are steam and heat set. The filter cups are formed by cutting and forming them into a nest of cups having an imporforate bottom, heating the nested cups, exposing them to moist steam, heating to dry the steamed cups, and cooling them to ambient temperature, transferring the nest of cups to a frusto-conical die having a circular top commensurate with the circular bottom of the filter cups, a central die-hole, and outwardly and downwardly flaring sides corresponding to the natural outward flare of the nested cups, and punching an axial hole in said nested cups while on said die by means of a punch complementary with said die-hole.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1976Date of Patent: June 13, 1978Assignee: Brown CompanyInventors: Wallace E. Patent number: 3982681Abstract: In a hogshead formed from convolutely wound paper tubes that are cut into complemental halves, reinforcing staves are adhered to the marginal cut edges of each tube moiety, and hinge members, comprising generally two part hinges, are secured to each stave with their turned ends embracing against the remote side edges of each stave to insure structural integrity for the hogshead particularly while the tobacco is being prized; the upper and lower interior edges of each tube half portion includes liners that are rigidly fastened thereto, while end closures having ring members that are arranged concentrically within the liners are fitted within the assembled hogshead to provide it with closure. The staves may be formed from metal that is pressed to expose a series of pointed spikes that may insure the retention of each stave to the paperboard tube, and the hinge means may be designed to provide their partial insertion within said tubes halves to further insure the structural integrity of the hogshead during usage.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1975Date of Patent: September 28, 1976Assignee: Alton Box Board CompanyInventors: Charles Berger Graves, Paul J. Richnak, Robert M. Wilkinson, Robert G. Wright
