Abstract: A system and method for remotely monitoring the operation of elevators to determine elevator shutdown. A control box is mounted to each elevator that includes one or more sensors that can detect movement of the elevator, a processor that can process data received from the sensors and a communications device that can transmit the processed data. The method includes determining a usage rate of movement of each of the elevators in the processor using the data, transmitting the usage rate from each of the communications devices to a remote server, and comparing the usage rate of each of the elevators to the usage rate of the other elevators in the server. The method then determines that one of the elevators has shut down or has a low performance if its usage rate is significantly different than the usage rate of the other elevators.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a vibroacoustic water system. The water system includes a reservoir configured to contain water and comprising a wall. The water system further includes four transducers mounted against the wall of the reservoir. The four transducers are configured to receive an input signal and to generate vibrations within water contained in the reservoir by vibrating the wall of the reservoir. The four transducers are mounted in a configuration such that, when the wall is partitioned into four sections, only a single transducer is mounted against each section of the wall and no other transducers are mounted against the wall.

Abstract: A non-blocking hot melt adhesive mass is prepared by (a) lining a rigid mold with a plastic film, said film being meltable together with the adhesive composition and blendable into said molten adhesive composition, and said mold being a heat sink or being in contact with a heat sink; (b) pouring molten hot melt adhesive into the lined mold; and (c) allowing the molten hot melt adhesive to solidify.
