Publication number: 20240159277Abstract: A universal joint (U-joint) assembly transmits torque from a drive component to a driven component across an articulating joint. The U-joint assembly includes male and female U-joint members, a central ball joint, and a retaining device configured to secure the assembly in an assembled configuration. The female U-joint member includes a cavity extending into a receptacle end thereof. The cavity terminates in a circular receptacle and includes a plurality of rectangular channels extending radially outward from the cavity at equal intervals, each channel defined by three planar drive surfaces. The male U-joint member has a drive end with a plurality of corresponding rectangular extensions protruding from an outer periphery of the drive end, each extension including a plurality of axial angular surfaces. When assembled, each of the angular surfaces of the drive end opposes a corresponding one of the drive surfaces of the cavity. Other embodiments are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2023Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Gregory Clarence Goff, Patrick Daniel Gallagher, Daniel Robert Gallagher, Krista D. Patent number: 11948412Abstract: A method for operating an access control device having a processor, a memory, and an internet connection comprises receiving a credential from a user; checking, by comparing the credential to matching credential information that would indicate the user is authorized to enter stored in the memory of the access control device, if no matching credential information that indicates the user is authorized is found in the memory of the access control device, then checking, at a remote cloud server, a list of buffered credential information for the matching credential information that indicates the user is authorized, and if the matching credential information that indicates the user is authorized is found, sending an unlock signal from the remote cloud server to the access control device.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2021Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: RemoteLock, Inc.Inventors: Nolan Mondrow, Robert Goff, Eric Carlson

Publication number: 20230419753Abstract: A method for operating an access control comprises creating a plurality of wake-up schedules for a wireless transceiver. Each of the plurality of wake-up schedules may be configured to control how frequently the wireless transceiver wakes up to transmit or receive information. Each of the plurality of wake-up schedules for the wireless transceiver may be different from another one or the plurality of wake-up schedules for the wireless transceiver. The method may further comprise automatically switching between the plurality of wake-up schedules for the wireless transceiver such that a duration of time between wake-ups for the wireless transceiver radio is shorter during some predefined times and longer during other predefined times. The duration of time between wake-ups for the wireless transceiver may be configurable by an administrative user via an interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2023Publication date: December 28, 2023Inventors: Nolan Mondrow, Robert Goff, Ewe Chye Tan

Patent number: 6427034Abstract: A preformed fiber optic applique having a backing layer is provided. The backing layer or film has an adhesive coating applied thereon. At least one optical fiber is routed and bonded to the adhesive layer providing a continuous optical signal path from one end to another. A releasable liner is releasably attached to the adhesive layer and positioned to cover the backing layer including the at least one optical fiber. Microstructures are provided on the backing layer in one embodiment. The microstructures are crushable structures that prevent the adhesive from immediately adhering to a substrate.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1998Date of Patent: July 30, 2002Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Michael Alan Meis, Gordon Dwight Henson, Terry Lee Smith, Robert Travis Smith, Dewain Robert Goff
