  • Patent number: 4596357
Abstract: A mailbox signaling device comprises a pivotal plate on the base of a mailbox which is raised from a prominently exposed position below the box to a substantially invisible position flush with the base of the mailbox when mail is delivered into the box. Accordingly, the plate may give the impression when it is exposed that it is in a signaling position, although the box is actually empty, and when mail is delivered, the plate is invisible and no signal is therefore evident, except to persons familiar with the workings of the device, that mail has been delivered into the box.

  • Patent number: 4385409
Abstract: A shower curtain bender for holding an end portion of a hanging shower curtain in close proximity to a vertical wall placed on one end of the shower enclosure to prevent shower water spray from splashing outside the enclosure from between the hanging shower curtain and the enclosure end walls comprises a pair of pivotal arms containing a series of slots superimposed on the last few attachment holes of the curtain to receive the hanger hooks, one of said arms bends the attached curtain into the shower enclosure and in close proximity to the vertically disposed enclosure end wall. A wedge positioned at the pivot between the two arms enables the curtain to be placed adjacent the compartment end wall without drooping. Additional pivot points enable the shower curtain to be folded neatly to one side or the other of the shower enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4205778
Abstract: A mail box signal device for attachment to a rural mailbox, the invention comprises a length of flexible cord-like material mounted interiorly of the mailbox and fitting within guide structure mounted within the box. A first end of the cord-like material has a flexible flap attached thereto, the flap being retentively but releasably lodged between the door and open end edge of the mailbox. Flat signal plates attached to the opposite ends of the cord-like material are held contiguous against the underside of the mailbox when the device is a set or non-signalling position, the signal plates dropping downwardly on opening of the door of the mailbox thereby to release the flap and attached length of cord-like material. Movement of the flat signal plates to a downwardly disposed position indicates to a distant observer that the mailbox has been opened.
