  • Patent number: 11951043
Abstract: A system for processing a portion in a processing volume of a transparent material by application of focused radiation including a device for generating and an optical system for focusing radiation, with a device for changing the position of the focus of the radiation and a control device. The system includes a controller that controls the ophthalmologic therapy system. The controller is encoded with a scan pattern. The scan pattern includes adjacent strokes with each adjacent stroke having an angle of inclination (?) to the beam axis; and the angle of inclination (?) of the strokes to the beam axis is always larger than or equal to the focal angle (?) of the focused radiation.

  • Patent number: 9863118
Abstract: A mining machine such as a mining shovel includes a digging assembly having an upward extending boom and a dipper assembly generally horizontally supported by the boom and configured to crowd toward and retract from a vertical bank at a mine site. To determine if the dipper assembly strikes the bank, an electronic controller can calculate a calculated crowd force based in part on a crowd motor torque associated with a crowd motor, a crowd speed of the dipper assembly, and an inertia parameter. If the calculated crowd force exceeds a predetermined first crowd threshold, the electronic controller can register an impact event. In further aspects, the electronic controller can execute a force modification function to modify the crowding forces and a speed reduction function to reduce the crowd speed.

  • Publication number: 20170121931
Abstract: A mining machine such as a mining shovel includes a digging assembly having an upward extending boom and a dipper arm generally horizontally supported by the boom. The dipper assembly includes a dipper disposed at one end of a dipper arm that can slide in translation with respect to the boom to crowd toward or retract from a vertical bank at the mining site. To translate the dipper assembly, the mining machine includes a crowd system having a crowd motor and a crowd actuator. An electronic controller receives the crowd motor torque, a crowd speed of the dipper assembly, and an inertia parameter associated with the dipper assembly. The electronic controller can determine an approximate location of the dipper with respect to the bank and, in a further aspect, can execute an anti-swing function if the dipper is in the bank.

  • Publication number: 20170121933
Abstract: A mining machine such as a mining shovel includes a digging assembly having an upward extending boom and a dipper assembly with a dipper that is generally horizontally supported by the boom. A hoist system including hoist ropes attached to the dipper may be used to vertically pivot the dipper assembly with respect to the boom. To determine if the hoist ropes are properly supporting the weight of the dipper assembly, an electronic controller can calculate a calculated hoist force based on a hoist speed associated with the hoist ropes and a hoist motor torque from a hoist motor. If the calculated hoist force indicates that slack exists in the hoist ropes, the electronic controller can execute a slack reduction function to increase tension in the hoist ropes attached to the dipper.

  • Publication number: 20170073935
Abstract: A system for evaluating a position of a target zone relative to a path of a material engaging work implement includes a rotatable implement system, an implement system pose sensor, and a target pose sensor. A controller determines a current pose of a portion of the implement system, determines a first pose of the target zone, determines a plurality of potential paths for moving the work implement to the first pose, and generates an alert command if a kinematic model and desired operating characteristics do not permit movement of the work implement to the first pose.

  • Publication number: 20170073925
Abstract: A system for controlling movement of a work implement of a machine between a dump location and a plurality of dig locations includes a rotatable implement system, and an implement system pose sensor. A controller is configured to store first dig signals from the implement system pose sensor indicative of a first dig location, store second dig signals from the implement system pose sensor indicative of a second dig location spaced from the first dig location and store a dump location. The controller is further configured to generate command signals to move the work implement from the first dig location to the dump location, generate command signals to dump a load of material carried by the work implement at the dump location, and generate command signals to move the work implement from the dump location to the second dig location.

  • Patent number: 9454147
Abstract: A system for setting a dump height of a material engaging work implement above a dump body includes a rotatable implement system, an implement system pose sensor, and a bed height sensor. A controller determines an initial bed height, determines an initial dump height, generates a command based upon the pose of the work implement, and determines a subsequent dump height higher than the initial dump height. The controller is further configured to position the work implement at the subsequent dump height, determine a further subsequent dump height higher than the subsequent dump height, and position the work implement at the further subsequent dump height over the dump body.

  • Patent number: 8272160
Abstract: A vine supporting device for manipulating the growth, direction, and distribution of vines and other creeping plants is provided. The vine supporting device comprises a base having a top and a bottom. A support pole is mounted in a substantially vertical direction to the top of the base. A plurality of wire mount slots is formed in the top of the base and around a perimeter of the base. A plurality of wire frames are provided with each wire frame having a first end and a second end and the first end releasably securable in one of the wire mount slots. A top cap is positionable on top of the support poles with the second ends of the wire mounts positionable and releasably secured under the top cap. Upon positioning the vine upon the top of the base, the support pole and wire frames control and direct growth of the vine.
