The system includes a controller configured to generate an identification tag, in response to a request for an animal cremation service, and a scanner configured to scan the identification tag at a specified time. The system further includes a camera configured to record a viewable area of a cremation machine, when the scanner scans an animal entering the cremation machine or the cremains being removed from the cremation machine. The system ensures that the animal entering the cremation machine matches the cremains being removed from the cremation machine, that the animal has been cremated, and that the cremation was performed at a time defined by the request.
