  • Publication number: 20070117392
Abstract: A device includes a coiling layer, a circuit device layer and active microelectronic circuitry fabricated on the circuit device layer. The coiling layer is formed onto a surface of and coupled to the circuit device layer. The coiling layer having intrinsic stresses which cause coiling of the coiling layer and the circuit device layer including the microelectronic circuitry as the circuit device layer is released from an underlying substrate. A coiled circuit device is formed.

  • Patent number: 7213859
Abstract: A one hand push button release mechanism is associated with a supplemental tailgate assembly to affect the release of the supplemental tailgate for deployment from the main tailgate apparatus. One embodiment of the push button mechanism engages a wedge having a cam surface that causes the wedge to move vertically with respect to the push button to pull on a linkage that releases a pivoted catch member. A second embodiment utilizes a laterally slidable push button that depresses into the molding to engage a spacer that is laterally movable with the push button to be movable into an interfering position with respect to the catch member to lock the supplemental tailgate in the stowed position. In both embodiments, a spring is operable to bias the locking mechanism into a locked position when the supplemental tailgate is returned to the stored position.

  • Publication number: 20060088978
Abstract: A substrate arrangement for high power semiconductor devices includes a SiC wafer having a Si layer deposited on a surface of the SiC wafer. An SOI structure having a first layer of Si, an intermediate layer of SiO2 and a third layer of Si, has its third layer of Si bonded to the Si deposited on the SiC wafer, forming a unitary structure. The first layer of Si and the intermediate layer of SiO2 of the SOI are removed, leaving a pure third layer of Si on which various semiconductor devices may be fabricated. The third layer of Si and deposited Si layer may be removed over a portion of the substrate arrangement such that one or more semiconductor devices may be fabricated on the SiC wafer while other semiconductor devices may be accommodated on the pure third layer of Si.

  • Publication number: 20060012850
Abstract: A micro-electrical mechanical system (MEMS) mirror assembly including an array of micro-mirrors formed on a substrate and having springs on one side and which angularly tilt between ON and OFF states in response to an electrostatic force generated by a voltage applied to an electrode located on the substrate. At least one, but preferably two springs in the form of two thin strips of metal attach to post(s) at the side edge of the mirror and act as springs which provide a restoring force when the mirror is tilted between an OFF state which occurs when the mirror is flat relative to the substrate with no voltage applied, and in the ON state when the mirror is tilted when a voltage is applied.

  • Publication number: 20050013151
Abstract: A coiled circuit device is produced by forming a circuit layer on a substrate. Optional insulator layers may be disposed above and below the circuit layer. The circuit layer, which may be memory, control, or other circuitry, is released from the substrate such that it coils into a dense, coiled device. A stressed coiling layer may be included which effects coiling when the circuit layer is released.

  • Publication number: 20030216971
Abstract: A user interface for a system for buying and selling resources consumed over time by using a network such as the Internet. The system facilitates the auction of commodities or resources consumed over time, such as energy. Aspects of the system include metering the actual use of the commodity, analysis of time-of-usage patterns, use of the Internet or other network to provide user interfaces and transfer of information, use of customer data such as location, division, billing code, type of usage, modeling of predicted and actual consumption with respect to a chosen plan. The system allows a consumer to acquire, maintain and manipulate usage statistics to allow for more intelligent planning and purchase of the commodity. The system allows a consumer to plan for control of consumption so as to optimize usage patterns such as shutting down non-essential equipment during peak usage hours to stay under certain critical usage parameters to optimize acquisition cost.
