  • Publication number: 20240081891
Abstract: An electrosurgical surgical instrument comprising an end effector, the end effector comprising an anvil; a cartridge operably configured to house a plurality of staples; a blade assembly comprising a blade; at least one electrode coupled to the blade, wherein the at least one electrode is in electrical communication with an electrosurgical power source generated from a controller; and at least one tissue sensor coupled to the blade; and a tissue monitoring system in electrical communication with the at least one tissue sensor, wherein the at least one tissue sensor provides feedback signals indicative of a property of the tissue to the controller, and wherein the controller signals the electrosurgical power source to adjust operational parameters of the electrosurgical surgical instrument based on the feedback signals.

  • Patent number: 8743657
Abstract: A target analysis method that includes the steps of: illuminating a target with acoustic waves; positioning a device at multiple acoustic vector sensing positions about the target in a scattered acoustic field of reflected waves to simultaneously measure acoustic pressure and particle velocity at each vector sensing position; converting using a Hilbert transform the measured acoustic pressures and particle velocities into a complex signal having active real and reactive imaginary vector component; computing respective active and reactive acoustic intensities at each vector components; and mapping field structure nulls being zero crossings of the active and reactive intensities to a bitmap representation of decomposed scattered target acoustic intensities of the target.

  • Patent number: 5177364
Abstract: An infrared detector comprises an envelope in which a detector element (3) is mounted on an end of a cold finger (1). A chemically-active getter (30) is present in the space between the cold finger (1) and the envelope window (7) and outer wall (2). In accordance with the present invention the getter comprises a porous layer (30) of chemically-active getter material deposited on an inside surface area of the outer wall (2) at a location separated from both the cold finger (1) and the window (7). The getter (30) can be activated (or re-activated) by heating through the portion of the outer wall (2) on which the getter material (30) is deposited, e.g. using a heater coil (50). Preferably the getter material (30) on the outer wall (2) extends around heat reflector, e.g. a reflective surface area of the cold finger (1). The cold finger (1) may be operated to cool the detector element (3) while heating the layer ( 30) to activate the getter.

  • Patent number: 5070335
Abstract: A pulse doppler radar system for helicopter recognition has a receiver (5) for receiving reflected pulse radar signals. A distinguishing circuit (22) is provided for distinguishing a group of received frequencies within a predetermined spectral range and for ignoring at least the largest amplitude frequency within that group. A threshold detector (24) is arranged to determine when the amplitude of the remaining frequencies in the group exceed a predetermined value to provide a recognition signal.

  • Patent number: 4483085
Abstract: A photograph display and storage device for displaying a mounted photograph or the like and additionally storing a plurality of other mounted photographs, the device permitting rapid change of the photograph being displayed. The device may lie flat upon any supporting surface or detachably secured to a stand in a rearwardly tilted direction to provide an eye-pleasing effect for the displayed photograph.
