  • Publication number: 20220113128
Abstract: A coke drum measurement system includes a first target coupled to an upper aspect of a coke drum and a second target arranged generally perpendicular to the first target. A first optical measurement device is arranged to visualize the first target and measure a distance between the first optical measurement device and the first target. A second optical measurement device is arranged to visualize the second target and measure a distance between the second optical measurement device and the second target. A processor is electrically coupled to the first optical measurement device and the second optical measurement device. The processor receives signals from the first optical measurement device and the second optical measurement device corresponding to movement of the coke drum. • Publication number: 20130018587
Abstract: A system and method for detecting hydrocarbon deposits includes a sensor that can measure radiation emanating from an earth surface within an area of interest and separate the measured radiation into component signals, each having a particular characteristic associated with the presence of hydrocarbon deposits. The system also includes a processor that can receive the component signals from the sensor, determine a difference between the component signals and a baseline radiation for the area of interest, and display data showing a likelihood of the presence of hydrocarbon deposits in locations within the area of interest based on the difference between the measured radiation and the baseline radiation. The processor may also generate maps of the area of interest.

  • Patent number: 7526894
Abstract: A door can comprise first and second panel sections for mounting to a doorframe for pivoting about an upright door pivot axis. A hinge for coupling the door to the door frame can comprise a spine with an elongated passageway comprising first and second hinge receiving pocket portions. First and second cam members and a biasing spring can be mounted within the hinge receiving pocket portions of the elongated passageway. Upon pivoting of the door about the pivot axis to an open position, the first and second cam members are pivoted relative to one another to create a gap therebetween with the biasing spring urging the first cam member toward the second cam member to urge the door closed following pivoting of the door to the open position.

  • Patent number: 7152377
Abstract: A door construction is illustrated with plural bumpers formed during the door manufacturing process. Respective sets of edges of the door body, such as trailing edges of door panel sections of the door body and top edges of the door panel sections, may be trimmed to establish the width and the height of the desired door. A closure or spacer member may be used to connect the trimmed edges. The door may be supported by a hinge assembly for pivoting about an upright pivot axis. The door body may be a monolithic one-piece construction, apart from any such closure members, and optional any window and window support. The door body may be formed by rotational molding.

  • Patent number: 6763859
Abstract: A blow tube for delivering particulate material from a container thereof to a mold to form a core has a unitary, elongate body formed of resiliently elastic material which enables the body to adjust and compensate for misalignment of the container and the mold. The blow tube body has a bore having a plurality of axially spaced sections so that when the particulate material is blown through the body by compressed gas, the density of the particulate material is increased and the velocity of the gas and particle stream is increased. The elasticity of the blow tube body enables the latter to expand in the event the particulate material clogs the blow tube, thereby enabling the clog to disaglomerate.

  • Patent number: 5608198
Abstract: An arrangement in an electrical switching device for protection against electrical arcs comprises a tripping mechanism, a stationary contact carrier, a movable contact carrier, an exhaust vent, an arc runner, and an arc extinguishing barrier. The stationary contact carrier has a stationary contact mounted thereon, and the movable contact carrier has a movable contact mounted thereon. In response to an overcurrent condition, the tripping mechanism causes the movable contact carrier to rotate from a closed position to an open position, thereby generating an electrical arc. In the closed position the movable contact abuts the stationary contact, and in the open position the movable contact is separated from the stationary contact. The arc extinguishing barrier is composed of an outgassing material and is located between the stationary contact and a portion of the tripping mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5581063
Abstract: In an electrical switching device including a stationary contact carrier having a stationary contact mounted thereon, a contact carrier assembly comprises a movable contact carrier and an arc-resistant protective shield. The movable contact carrier has a movable contact mounted thereon. The movable contact carrier is movable between a closed position and an open position. The movable contact abuts the stationary contact while the movable contact carrier is in the closed position, and the movable contact is separated from the stationary contact while the movable contact carrier is in the open position. The arc-resistant protective shield is mounted to the movable contact carrier and surrounds the movable contact. The shield protects the movable contact carrier from electrical arcs generated during circuit interruption.

  • Patent number: 5322119
Abstract: A submersible well probe sleeve made of a cylindrical tube attached to a submersible pump. The cylindrical tube has a number of slots exposing access to a protective pouch. Inside the protective pouch a fluid level sensing probe is placed. The fluid has access to the pouch through slots in the sleeve. Opposite the pouch at a predetermined level is a number of fluid inlet holes which provide access to the center of the cylinder by fluid in the well. The submersible pump draws fluid into the center of the cylinder past the probe. The submersible well probe sleeve provides a fixed relative position between the probe and the inlets such that the level of the well can be maintained at a precise level and the probe can be installed in the well while under the protection of the sleeve.
