Abstract: Storage units including platforms that are outfitted with RFID antennas and auxiliary sensors detect changes in loading on the platforms based on changes in loading determined by the auxiliary sensors or changes in signals received by the RFID antennas. The platforms include surfaces for receiving items tagged with RFID transmitters thereon, such as items of common types and variable weights. An interaction involving the placement of an item on the platform, or the removal of the item from the platform, is detected by the auxiliary sensors. The energization of an RFID field is triggered in response to the detected interaction, and an item is identified where an RFID signal transmitted by the item is present at one time and absent at another time.

Abstract: A filter is disclosed. The filter includes a sheet of filter media defining a body having an upper portion, a lower portion, a first end surface proximate the upper portion, a second end surface proximate the lower portion, and a first side surface extending between the first and second end surfaces. One or more of the upper and lower portions define a ledge, wherein the ledge defines a third end surface arranged between the first and second end surfaces, and a second side surface extending between the first and third end surfaces; and a seal disposed upon the ledge. A method for manufacturing the seal is also disclosed.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, systems for enabling facilities to implement techniques to determine when users are in possession of items when located within and/or exiting the facilities. For instance, a system may use one or more sensors to determine locations of a user that navigated through a facility. Additionally, the system may use one or more sensors to determine locations of an item while the item was located within the facility. The system may then determine a probability that the user was in possession of the item when in the facility and/or when exiting the facility based at least in part on the locations of the user and the locations of the item. If the system determines that the user was in possession of the item when exiting the facility, the system may charge a payment instrument of the user for a price of the item.

Each of the rollers has a circular perimeter that defines an outer diameter and a contact surface of the roller. The contact surface defines a contact surface radius sized so that the roller applies a level of pressure to the soft tissue beneath the skin when the roller device is pressed with a level of force against the skin of the individual and caused to travel across the skin within the body region of the individual's body.

The third stream exhaust air from the separate concentric nozzle is exhausted to a location at which pressure is ambient or sub-ambient. The location at which the third stream air is exhausted contributes to the thrust of the aircraft. The airstream from the third air duct is exhausted through an exhaust nozzle of the third duct that is positioned at the interface between the aft of the airframe and the leading edge of the engine outer flaps. This location is a low pressure region that has a recirculation zone. The exhaust of third stream air to this low pressure region substantially reduces or eliminates this recirculation zone and associated boat tail drag, thereby improving the efficiency of the engine.

The core exhaust includes a convergent-divergent nozzle. The convergent-divergent nozzle is formed from a plurality of flaps and seals. The third stream of air is selectively exhausted from the third duct through a secondary nozzle or divergent slots in the convergent-divergent nozzle, or both depending upon the flight mode. A diverter valve is positioned in the third stream duct to selectively control the flow of third stream air through the secondary nozzle, the divergent slots and combinations thereof.

When the capo is clamped to the neck of a guitar at a first position, the screen receiving fixture may be arranged and oriented for convenient viewing of a screen carried therein by the guitar musician. When moved to second position, viewing the screen necessitates re-orientation of the screen receiving fixture to accommodate geometry of the second position, which re-orientation is conveniently carried out by re-orientation of the adjustable connector.
