    Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for detecting maxima and minima of an array of data points defining a periodic, symmetrical waveform. The method comprises comparing the "y" values of two marker points (selected from the array of data points), which marker points are spaced apart along the waveform by a predetermined number of data points. If the "y" values of the two marker points are not substantially the same, both marker points are incremented in the "x" direction, and their "y" values are tested again. If the "y" values are substantially the same, within a predetermined tolerance value t, a positive or negative peak has been found. Optionally, the points between the marker points are then sorted to find the tip of the peak.

    Abstract: A one piece cushioning device for a child's car seat has a main body defining a head rest and a pair of extending arms that define a pair of shoulder belt covers. Each arm is sized and shaped to fit around a shoulder belt of the car seat, closures being provided to secure the arms around the shoulder belts. The main body is positioned between a child's head and the back of the car seat and serves as a cushion to protect against irritation to the child's head and the arms protect against irritation to the child's neck.

    Abstract: Circuitry for discriminating between input signals having peak amplitudes which fall with two ranges includes two Schmitt triggers having their input terminals connected to a common circuit input terminal. The trigger points of the two Schmitt triggers overlap each other. The potential difference between the upper trigger points of the two Schmitt triggers establishes one of the input signal amplitude ranges. Signals with amplitudes greater than the upper trigger point of the higher of the two upper trigger points fall into the second of the two signal ranges. Decoder circuitry coupled to the outputs of the two Schmitt triggers determine if one or both of the Schmitt triggers is regularly responding to the input signal and thereby the relative amplitude range of the applied signal.
