  • Patent number: 7552966
Abstract: A portable platform usable as a seat having at least three outwardly-inclined legs and a seat supported thereby is provided. The legs have nestable sections, an uppermost portion of each leg being attachable to an underside of the platform. The legs are maintained in biased relationship by an elastic cord or cable which extends between the platform and a lowermost section of the legs. The elastic cord or cable extends through each section of the legs, and is tensioned such that the sections may be separated from one another and folded onto an uppermost surface of said platform for storage. An extendable back-supporting member is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7370908
Abstract: A portable platform having at least three outwardly-inclined legs and a platform supported thereby is provided, the legs each having multiple nestable sections, an uppermost portion of each of the legs being adapted to be attached to an underside of said platform, the legs being maintained in biased relationship to an underside of the platform by an elastic cord or cable which extends between the underside of the platform and a lowermost section of the legs, with the elastic cord or cable extending through each of the respective sections of the legs, with the elastic cord or cable being tensioned such that the sections of the legs may be separated from one another and folded onto an uppermost surface of said platform in storage relationship thereto, with the platform being comprised of dimensionally-stable foldable sections.

  • Patent number: 4815681
Abstract: An improved stunt kite wing structure is provided comprising an aerodynamic dihedral sail structure having a fabric sail tensioned on a supporting frame comprised of lateral brace members and a longitudinal member intermediate the ends of the lateral braces together with connecting opposing lateral spar members. The tensioning of the sail and the configuration of the supporting frame is such that the sail assumes a dihedral shape, with the sail being caused to assume a tensioned or stressed condition along a portion of the leading edge of the sail intermediate the respective lateral ends of the sail such that the sail is spaced from the longitudinal brace member.

  • Patent number: 4742977
Abstract: An improved wing structure is provided having a self-induced camber. The wing comprises an aerodynamic dihedral sail structure having a fabric sail tensioned on a supporting frame comprised of lateral brace members and a longitudinal member intermediate the ends of the lateral braces. The tensioning of the sail and the configuration of the supporting frame is such that the sail assumes a dihedral shape, with the sail being caused to assume a tensioned or stressed condition along a portion of the leading edge of the sail intermediate the respective lateral ends of the sail resulting in the formation of a self-induced camber at that location.

  • Patent number: 4682557
Abstract: A sailboard with a wing-like sail pivoted to the top of a mast for free roll motion but constrained against pitch. The wing may have a leading edge flap. The wing is made from a sail stretched on a space frame which is demountable for compact storage.
