  • Publication number: 20040055257
Abstract: Product packages with enclosed product samples and techniques for making same are described. In one described technique, a carton material is cut and scored to form a carton blank that includes a plurality of panels separated by score lines, each of the panels including an interior surface and an exterior surface. A cosmetic slurry is applied to a region of an interior surface of one of the panels, and an adhesive around the slurry region. A covering material is then affixed to the adhesive, the material covering the slurry. A carton is then fabricated from the carton blank, the cosmetic slurry being located inside the fabricated carton.

  • Publication number: 20030132126
Abstract: A locking package for holding a media disc is described. The package includes a tray having a cavity for receiving a media disc and a cover plate for holding a media disc in the cavity. The cover plate is attached to the tray by a locking fastener that passes through an aperture in the cover plate, a central spindle aperture in the media disc, and an aperture in the tray.

  • Patent number: 6549132
Abstract: An electronic article surveillance tag is described, in which a resonant circuit tuned to be detectable by a sensor is fabricated onto the upper and lower surfaces of a dielectric substrate. The dielectric substrate includes a membrane that provides insulation between a first circuit component fabricated onto the upper surface of the dielectric substrate and a second circuit component fabricated onto the lower surface of the dielectric substrate. When a deactivation voltage is applied across the electronic article surveillance tag, the membrane fails, causing the resonant circuit to become detuned.

  • Patent number: 4292786
Abstract: A machine for packaging chopped leafy vegetables in a flexible bag with the chopped leafy vegetables being reduced in volume by compressing the bag and the chopped leafy vegetables therein in a vertical direction and closing the open end of the bag thereby packaging leafy chopped vegetables in a manner that the package will occupy less volume than when the chopped leafy vegetables were in bulk form. In one embodiment of the invention, the bags with a predetermined quantity of chopped leafy vegetables therein are placed on a platform with the open upper end of the bag being received through a slot in a top plate structure after which the supporting platform is moved upwardly toward the top plate a predetermined distance to compress the bag and contents therein in a vertical direction with the upper end of the bag then being closed by a heat sealing assembly when the bag is constructed of plastic.
