Abstract: A mobile local delivery server (MLDS) may include a system controller configured to determine an anticipated location of an aircraft based on information received from one or more flight information sources and a data loading processor communicably coupled with the system controller and configured to execute one or more software applications. The one or more software applications may configure the MLDS to exchange data with the aircraft. The MLDS may further include a mass storage device communicably coupled with the data loading processor and configured to store data exchanged between the MLDS and the aircraft.

Abstract: A method of displaying a plurality of notifications issued on board an aircraft may include receiving the plurality of notifications from a plurality of applications operating on board the aircraft and displaying the plurality of notifications collectively on a single user interface. The single user interface may be configured to permit an aircraft crew member to select at least one notification from the plurality of notifications and display a description of the at least one notification selected by the aircraft crew member. The description may include at least one action to be performed by the aircraft crew member in response to the at least one notification.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for implementing a security construct for downloading, delivering and protecting large amounts of data for transfer to an aircraft upload capability in a short period of time, including between individual legs of a flight for a particular aircraft or fleet of aircraft. Large data packages include In Flight Entertainment and Electronic Flight Bag data. The data is downloaded at an available rate using wired communication paths communicating with various data sources via communication networks to a mobile communication device. The data is secured in the mobile communication device according to particular encryption schemes acceptable to data content providers. The mobile communication device securely holds the data for carriage to the aircraft where wired communication is established to upload the data in available abbreviated amounts of time in a manner that is not dependent on the availability of wireless communicating bandwidth.

Abstract: A method of notifying an aircraft crew member using a notification management system includes creating a rule based on at least one flight condition and transmitting the created rule to the aircraft. The at least one flight condition may include air travel data. The method also includes receiving aircraft data generated by one or more aircraft systems, comparing the received aircraft data with the rule, and issuing a notification to the aircraft crew member based on the comparison between the received aircraft data and the at least one condition in the rule. The notification may include at least one action to be performed in response to the notification.
