  • Patent number: 5963999
Abstract: A multi-purpose folding tool which features inwardly tapered handles to provide external plier jaw storage, thereby leaving greater room for supplemental tool storage inside the handles, a box-beam handle construction for greater strength, downwardly opening handles to facilitate ease of use, a unique supplemental tool locking and release mechanism, and laminated plier jaws which are riveted together for even greater strength and overall integrity.

  • Patent number: 5944407
Abstract: An illumination device functioning as both a flashlight and an area table lamp having a flexible neck that connects a light housing to a base. The illumination device includes at least one light source mounted in the light housing for projecting light through either a diffusing lens to function as an area light or a projecting lens to function as a flashlight. An improved flexible neck for an illumination device is also disclosed that has a dampening mechanism and a retaining mechanism disposed in an elongated solid resilient body. The retaining mechanism counters the resilient force of the resilient body to retain a selected position of the flexible neck while the dampening mechanism serves to dampen a bouncing effect that commonly occurs in flexible necks of flashlights.

  • Patent number: 5827117
Abstract: A device for stacking coins, including at least one coin stacking well and a wedge positioned at a bottom of the coin stacking well. In one embodiment, the device sorts and packages different sized coins in coin wrappers using: (1) an input chute for receiving the coins into a hopper, (2) a guide for guiding the coins from the hopper along a predetermined path, the guide having a bottom surface with multiple apertures in the bottom surface, substantially coinciding with the predetermined path and each of the apertures becoming progressively larger in one direction; (3) a plurality of coin stacking wells for receiving the coins; (4) a plurality of coin chutes for directing coins from a respective aperture into a respective coin stacking well; and (5) a wedge positioned at the bottom of each coin stacking well. The wedge may be formed with a platform section and an angled section such that the end of an unfolded coin wrapper surrounds the bottom of the platform.

  • Patent number: 5549266
Abstract: A mounting bracket includes a cover plate, a back plate and a deflecting strip depending from the back plate. The deflecting strip directs water cascading down along the back plate away from the wall of the building structure. The bracket further includes a connecting projection formed on the cover plate and a receiving socket formed on the back plate. When mated with each other, the projection and socket allow the cover plate to be positioned in any one of an infinite number of positions, within the connection range, relative to the back plate. The connecting projection and receiving socket are each formed in a position on its supporting component that is laterally offset from a center line bisecting the component. This design placement allows the connecting projection and the receiving socket to be matingly aligned when the cover plate and back plate are brought together for assembly in a working mode.
