Patent number: 6325367Abstract: A novel back stop gauge for determining accurate and safe positioning of work piece material in a machine tool, such as a press brake, wherein a linear stop has an axially stiff, but transversely flexible coil spring intermediate end portions, one end portion being engaged by work piece material and the opposite end portion being anchored to a cooperating support. Misplacement of work material either over or beneath the stop, while normally destructive of the work piece upon closure of the press brake, does not result in damage to the machine tool or the press because of the flexible nature of the back stop, which permits movement of the stop out of the path of the machine tool.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1999Date of Patent: December 4, 2001Assignee: Power Brake Dies, Inc.Inventor: Robert L. Russell

Patent number: 6168239Abstract: A plastic contoured seat back includes an inner and an outer shell affixed together. The inner shell includes a three dimensionally curved front surface and a two dimensionally curved back surface. The inner shell may include an internal rib adjacent the top of the shell that is shaped differently from the top edge of the inner shell. The internal rib is adapted to allow the inner shell to be cut adjacent the internal rib so that the inner shell can be varied in shape. The shell may also include indentations on the back side of the shell adjacent the corners of the inner shell. The indentations are dimensioned to receive overlapping fabric that is pulled around the corners such that the fabric on the back of the shell adjacent the corners does not project outwardly more than the fabric elsewhere, despite the over lapping of the fabric at the corners.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Irwin Seating CompanyInventors: John P. Conner, Steven E. Finney, Richard A. Thalen, Robert L. Russell, Tim Coffield

Patent number: 6065324Abstract: A multi-piece die section for a press brake installed rotary bending tool in which a forming anvil is positioned in a holder in accordance with the thickness of material to be bent so that the rotary bender and press brake operate on the same center line. In one version of the holder a forming anvil is adjustably positioned relative to the center line of the rotary bender and in a second version thereof the forming anvil is precision sized in accordance with the thickness of the work material whereby to eliminate the need for shims and readjustment of press ram stroke as required by the first version.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1999Date of Patent: May 23, 2000Assignee: Power Brake Dies, Inc.Inventor: Robert L. Patent number: 6021659Abstract: A rotary bending tool holder, particularly useful in a press brake type press, which embodies a two piece holder, namely a main body and clamp; usually attached to the moveable ram of the press brake. A rotary bending tool used with the holder is provided with elongated rectangular keyway slots along opposite sides which are aligned to received opposing tabs or keys engageable with such slots. One key is formed on the clamp of the holder while the other key is formed on the main body of the holder. Once positioned in the holder, the clamp is tightened to engage its associated key in one of the slots of the bending tool. This action causes the other key on the holder body to engage the other slot of the bending tool. At the same time opposing surfaces on the holder body and bending tool, located at the same distance from the center line of the tool holder engage to precisely align the center of the rotary head on the center line of the holder and press head.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1999Date of Patent: February 8, 2000Assignee: Power Brake Dies, Inc.Inventor: Robert L. Patent number: 5951110Abstract: A plastic contoured seat back includes an inner and an outer shell affixed together. The inner shell includes a three dimensionally curved front surface and a two-dimensionally curved back surface. The indentations are dimensioned to receive overlapping fabric that is pulled around the corners such that the fabric on the back of the shell adjacent the corners does not project outwardly more than the fabric elsewhere, despite the overlapping of the fabric at the corners. The inner shell may also include a plurality of uniquely identified holes adapted to allow a variety of different ornamentation to be attached to the inner shell.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1997Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: Irwin Seating CompanyInventors: John P. Patent number: 5934327Abstract: A valve for cryogenic fluids that divides incoming fluid into separate outlets. The valve prevents the inadvertent leakage or reverse flow of fluid through the valve using a swing-type check valve, and may also remove undesirable debris from the fluid. The valve comprises a valve housing and at least one valve actuator. The housing includes an inlet and at least one outlet, and has an inlet chamber and at least one outlet chamber that are adapted to receive fluid from the inlet and deliver the fluid to the outlet. The inlet chamber and the outlet chamber are fluidly coupled by a valve aperture that is defined by a valve seat. The valve actuator cooperates with the valve seat to seal the inlet chamber from the outlet chamber. In one embodiment, the valve includes a check valve that is pivotally mounted in the valve housing to prevent fluid flow from the valve housing through the inlet. In another embodiment, the valve includes a pair of outlets, a pair of outlet chambers and a pair of valve actuators.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: Goddard Valve CorporationInventors: Donald R. Patent number: 5044135Abstract: The present invention relates to a cluster office work station system having an equilateral polygonal shaped central core having five or more vertical side panels. The individual work stations are defined by wall panels connected to common lateral edges of the side panels and extending from the side panels at substantially right angles. Work surfaces and other accessories, like cabinets and shelves, are attached to the wall panels to complete the work stations and the central core functions as a common raceway for electrical, power and communication cabling. In addition, the connector for interconnecting the lateral edges of two adjacent side panels and a wall panel is adjustable to accommodate work stations having four or more side panels.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1990Date of Patent: September 3, 1991Assignee: Hon Industries Inc.Inventors: Robert J. Patent number: 4736612Abstract: A compensating bolster and die holder combination for use with the bed of a press brake to provide vertical adjustment and compensating camber to the die holder supported thereby. The die holder is vertically moveable in an open channel of an underlying elongated bolster fitted to the bed of the press; with plural wedge members, moveable transversely of the die holder, serving to adjustably position and support the latter. Each wedge member has joined thereto an indicator pin extending through one side of the bolster which operates to visually indicate the adjusted position of its wedge member; while the several indicator pins cooperate to show the relative adjusted positions of the several wedge members and the consequential adjusted elevation of the die and die holder.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1987Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignee: Power Brake Dies, Inc.Inventor: Robert L. Patent number: 4372480Abstract: A mail or storage box for suspension between spaced-apart parallel vertical members and secured thereto in cover contact with a horizontal plane surface. The box is suspended by means of a compound pivoting arm arrangement to close against the cover surface and to be capable of opening from the front or rear in such a manner that upon opening the edge of the box falls away from the cover while progressively tilting as the opening proceeds toward a stop position where the contents are revealed and presented to the person opening the box. On closing a reverse progression occurs. Compound pivoting is achieved using a pair of pivot arms at both ends of the box and arm both pivotally secured to the end closure of the box at the top and at the bottom to an attachment plate. The attachment plate is the means for suspending the box in the space between the vertical supports and against the upper closure.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1981Date of Patent: February 8, 1983Inventors: Terry L.
