  • Patent number: 10709975
Abstract: Various examples are directed to a haptic device for manipulating a virtual projectile. The haptic device may receive a trajectory of the virtual projectile. A position circuit may determine a first position of a body part of a user based at least in part on a motion signal received from a motion sensor. A comparator circuit may determine a first distance between the first position of the body part and the trajectory. A feedback circuit may excite a haptic actuator of the haptic device at a first level. The position circuit may also determine a second position of the body part. The comparator circuit may also determine a second distance between the second position of the body part and the trajectory. The second distance may be different than the first distance. The feedback circuit may excite the haptic actuator at a second level different than the first level.

  • Patent number: 10169920
Abstract: A method for virtual guard rail implementation includes collecting user parameters, representing user limitations, for a computer simulation executed by a computer. Execution of the computer simulation is monitored for virtual content that exceeds the user parameters. The monitoring may be performed in real-time and prior to presentation of the content on a display to the user. Virtual content that exceeds the user parameters is replaced with virtual guard rail content that remains within the user parameters.

  • Publication number: 20180288610
Abstract: Activity of a subject is reported to an entity interested in the arrival of the subject at a destination. Context indicia relating to usage of the device is generated based on sensor data and content data of the device of the subject. The usage of the device includes travel to the destination. An estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the subject at the destination is determined based on the context indicia. An impact on the ETA of any changes in the context indicia is assessed. Content for a timeliness notification is generated based on a predefined degree of candor from among multiple degrees of candor regarding the timeliness of the ETA. Privacy criteria that defines a content limit to the timeliness notification, is applied. Any content of the timeliness notification that exceeds the content limit is removed to produce a minimally-informative notification to be communicated to the entity.
