  • Publication number: 20120035894
Abstract: A method is presented for predicting a noise/comfort performance in a cabin of a vehicle with a body-shell and a suspension system linked to the body-shell by at least one point of attachment, with the vehicle rolling at a given speed on a rolling device with a macrorough rolling surface. The method includes: determining a global transfer function of the body-shell, determining a global admittance of the body-shell, determining an impedance of the suspension system, determining, while rolling on the macrorough rolling surface, lockup loads of the suspension system, and combining together the global transfer function of the body-shell, the global admittance of the body-shell, the impedance of the suspension system, and the lockup loads of the suspension system to obtain a prediction of noise/comfort performance (P) inside the cabin.

  • Patent number: 4813513
Abstract: A first chamber (18) of variable volume is interposed between the body (20) and the adjacent part of the damper (14) and hydraulically connected to a second chamber (40) of variable volume provided in an elastically yieldable support (24) interposed between the power unit (22) and the body (20) so as to constitute a work chamber. The second chamber (40) is connected to a third chamber (41) of variable volume constituting a simple expansion chamber which is not subjected to exterior forces, through a passageway of great length and small section. The hydraulic connection between the first chamber (18) and at least one of the other two chambers (40), (41) is achieved, at least partly, through the passageway of great length.

  • Patent number: 4720086
Abstract: The invention provides an elastically yieldable unit which can be manufactured in mass production and ensures a good filtering of vibrations both of high frequency and low amplitude and of low frequency and high amplitude. Such a unit comprises two chambers filled with liquid. These chambers are defined at least partly by elastically yieldable walls and are separated by a rigid partition wall and a movable wall carried by the partition wall. Further, the rigid partition wall defines a conduit of great length and small section which puts the two chambers in communication with each other.

  • Patent number: 4632211
Abstract: The device is for a motor-drive unit 1 suspended elastically on the structure 5 of a vehicle. The device comprises reverse speed and forward speed abutments 11, 12 of low flexibility which are each interposed between two bearing elements of which one is connected to the support 6 of the unit 1 and the other is connected to a support 16 which is part of the structure 5. One, 18, of the bearing elements of at least one, 12, of the abutments is mounted to be movable relative to its support 16 and is maintained spaced from the latter by a predetermined distance J in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the unit 1, by means of a highly flexible pre-stressed spring 20. By means of this arrangement, when the gearbox is engaged with a front speed ratio and the vehicle remains stationary, the transmission to the structure 5 of the vibrations of the unit 1 through the forward speed abutment 12 is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4618127
Abstract: An abutment element 11 is fixed to the upper element 7 of the suspension strut below the flexible joint 5 which connects the upper element to the structure 1 of the vehicle. This abutment element cooperates, in order to limit the "relaxation" movements, with a support element 12 disposed below the abutment element and connected to the structure. Such an arrangement facilitates the placement of a hydraulic device 6 above the flexible joint 5. Application in motor vehicle suspensions.

  • Patent number: 4262886
Abstract: An elastically yieldable block structure comprising a block of elastomer interconnecting two armatures and defining at least two cavities which are filled with liquid and communicate with each other. One cavity is a main center cavity which is provided in the block and has walls which have a high resistance to the inner pressure of the liquid and the other cavity is a lateral cavity which communicates with the center cavity. At least a part of the lateral walls of the lateral cavity or cavities has a low resistance to the inner pressure of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 4159091
Abstract: The device comprises two armatures one of which is for connection to a support and the other is for connection to a suspended element. A block of elastic material is interposed between, and defines with, the two armatures a closed enclosure. A partition wall provided with at least one calibrated orifice is mounted by the periphery thereof on a first of the armatures and divides the enclosure into two chambers. A liquid fills one of the chambers and at least a part of the other chamber. The partition wall has a part which is movable with respect to the first armature in a direction perpendicular to the mean plane of the partition wall. The first armature has a stop for limiting the extent of the movement of the partition wall.

  • Patent number: 4154206
Abstract: The present invention relates to a suspension device for a rotating machine lacking balance, comprising at least one elastic support defining a first chamber filled with liquid, wherein said first chamber is connected to a second chamber, likewise filled with liquid, closed by a flexible wall subjected to alternate displacements of frequency and phase equal to the frequency of the lack of balance to be compensated.

  • Patent number: 3970162
Abstract: Two series of separate elastically yieldable blocks having different stiffnesses are disposed between the damper and the vehicle body and between the damper and the engine-drive unit. The accelerations transmitted to the body and to the engine are then substantially equal. In this way, the relative movements between the engine-drive unit and the body and the resulting vibrations are reduced while the noises transmitted by the engine through its suspension are also reduced.
