    Abstract: A recessed light fixture has an enclosure with an aperture, a light source operable to emit light through the aperture, and a glass element operable to transmit light emitted from the light source into the room. The glass element is disposed substantially planar with a bottom surface of the ceiling and has a beveled outer edge having an opaque coating operable to substantially prevent light from exiting through the bevel. A cover assembly is adapted to close an opening of a plaster frame, and has a cover plate and an elastomeric seal which forms a contiguous seal against a bottom of an interior of a liner of the plaster frame. A position of the light engine being adjustable relative to an aperture into a downlight position, wall wash position and service position.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides a vertical-axis windmill including a rotating vertical shaft and at least one vane assembly mounted to the rotating vertical shaft. The vertical-axis windmill rotates around a vertical axis when wind impinges upon the vane assembly. During rotation, a planar sail of the vane assembly moves along an oscillatory arc of about 90°, with the planar sail assuming each of a vertical orientation and a horizontal orientation once during each 360° rotation of the vertical shaft. As described below, this configuration advantageously allows the windmill to be self-starting and suited for operation at low wind-speed.

    Abstract: A movable cover for a roof opening in the passenger space of a motor vehicle is provided. The cover includes a rigid outer cover part which is configured so as to be in a flush position with adjacent vehicle body panel structure when the opening is closed, as well as a headlining spaced from the fixed cover part and facing inwardly into the passenger space. In order to assure a reliable, attractive, cooperation of the headlining with the adjacent interior structure of the vehicle passenger space, the cover part and the headlining are connected by way of leaf springs or the like which place a slight pressure on the headlining in a direction away from the cover part so as to press the headlining against upwardly facing fixed vehicle frame parts at the roof opening.

    Abstract: An improved arrangement for accommodating movement of a manual crank member for a sliding and tilting roof is provided. The crank member is drivingly connected to a shaft, which shaft is connected by a lost motion connection with a driving plate, which driving plate in turn includes a stop member engageable with a stop member on a driving gear connected for movement with the vehicle roof member. The lost motion connection between the shaft and the plate member corresponds to the angular rotation equivalent to the sum of the circumferential length of the stop members at the plate and the driven gear, so that the crank member can be freely returned to a single predetermined rotative position where it can be moved into a roof recess or the like to be concealed, irrespective of the position of the roof member.
