  • Patent number: 5531402
Abstract: A primary or backup flight control system for controlling the flight path of an aircraft or spacecraft using wireless transmitters (15 and 16) located near the flight deck (14) and positioned within, or on, the outer skin of the fuselage (10). These transmitters (15 and 16) send pilot-generated, wireless, e.g. infra-red, flight control signals (17 and 18) to receivers (19 and 21) located within, or on, the engines, wings, and tail assembly surfaces. These signals (17 and 18) are then directed to their respective engines or moveable flight control surfaces. These wireless control signals (17 and 18) are transmitted externally of the fuselage structure (10) and the transmission and receipt of these signals takes place on a single aircraft or spacecraft structure. In case of fuselage damage, e.g., due to structural failure, internal explosions, air-to-air collision, or military combat, which damages the primary flight control system (hydraulic, wire or cable), the present system will remain operative.

  • Patent number: 5224901
Abstract: An apparatus and method for displaying an anamorphic illusion utilizes two flat disks, each having different unrecognizable images on their top surfaces. A reflecting surface is positioned perpendicular to the disks. A viewer is able to see a recognizable composite reflected image of the two unrecognizable images by looking at the reflecting surface from any position around the circumference of the apparatus. Rotational motion is imparted to one of the two disks, creating an animated display on the reflecting surface. In another embodiment of the invention, lighting is added above and underneath the disks to illuminate the display and create a vivid and eye-catching attraction under any lighting conditions.

  • Patent number: 5082229
Abstract: A display holder constructed of transparent plastic formed with an 180.degree. bend (12) so that its face side (11) presses against its reverse side (13). The pressure of the two sides will hold a sheet of paper printed with advertising that pertains to a consumer's electronic home entertainment center. At the opposite end, another longer-radius 180.degree. bend (16) is made, forming a book or magazine pocket and clamp (17). This pocket and clamp (17) can then hold a book or magazine that is used in conjunction with an electonic home entertainment center. Hook-and-loop strips (14 and 15) are fastened to the display holder adjacent and parallel to the 180.degree. bend (12). Then mating hook-and-loop strips (24 and 25) are fastened by the consumer to a plurality of electronic remote control units so that these strips (24 and 25) will mate together with the other strips (14 and 15). This allows a homeowner to fasten remote control units to the display holder, thus consolidating them for ease of use.

  • Patent number: 3966050
Abstract: The structure of the present invention comprises an index file in the form of a shiftable table longitudinally operable upon a support base. The table is shiftable upon antifriction means, and may be releasably locked in position. Means is provided for sectionalizing the index cards or data folders carried by the table to maximize accessibility and minimize operator fatigue.
